I just crashed and burned for 2 hours. Allie is resting well today drinking less and peeing less. She knows between 4-5 pm she will get a snack to hold her over to her 8pm shot.

Side note since we are all thrown off our routines my other cat now has crystals in her urine. X-ray tomorrow for her.

I don't know if you have seen this page of Dr. Lisa Pierson's website on urinary tract issues in cats:
https://catinfo.org/feline-urinary-tract-diseases/
I have and have been looking at that before my 2nd cat Cassie had issues. Diabetes and kidney disease tend to go hand and hand but not always since ECID. Allie had a good day all in all she is being such a good girl. Think Cassie's issue is also the attention Allie is getting so that has thrown her off her routine.

Is Cassie on a low carb canned diet? Maybe more hydration and a low phos diet is all that is needed to take care of the crystals?

I am already trying that (both went low carb when Allie was DX did not want 2 sugar kitties) but I have been sneaking her some of those Puree Grain Free Treats for hydration, contacted Purina and they are sending some of their hydrating pouches. Allie is good on hydration. I also got both some baby food (without cornstarch). I'm poaching salmon and chicken for both (for 0 carb snacks). The dang phos in FF pates are an issue since both cats at their age always got FF canned foods. I'll have more answers tomorrow. See what the vet recommends tomorrow...no doubt some prescription food. I am a routine person and so are the cats so when Allie became diabetic that took priority. Cassie cat has walked me to the pantry every morning for 10 years now Allie gets there first and the routine has been changed.
Thanks!

Hi
I don't know if you would be interested in this for Cassie
  1. Tyler was blocked once ,the mucus plug so I started him on
The Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health is low carb and low phosphorus
I feed Tyler the Beef and Chicken Entree pate
    Carbs are around 4.80
    Phosphorus is 1.44 dry matter

They also have Chicken Entree in Gravy which isn't pate it like tiny pieces of chicken like the size of a chicklet piece of gum lol remember them, they are like tiny tiny chunks
    Carbs are 4.5
    Phosphorus 0.78 dry matter

So he doesn't get bored I give him some Tiki Cat Succulent Chicken in Chicken Consume , they are shreds of chicken
    Carbs 0.338
    Phosphorus 0.93

I put about a teaspoon full on top of the Pro Plan Beef and Chicken , I cut the chicken shreds up because Tyler likes it that way lol

Knock on wood he's been ok since then

Thank you! We are leaving here in about 5 mins. for the vets for the x-ray. She is peeing so I know she is not blocked and I have the camera on the boxes she appears to be doing normal business so to say. I'm going to see if the vet has these as long as nothing else is wrong. Think she was dehydrated? Like I said both her and Allie's routines and diets have changed so after 10 and 12 years we are all in new territory. She is sitting next to me cleaning right now.

Nothing on the x-rays $620.00 later. They did give her a shot of antibiotics. She goes back in a week for a second one. I'll take a drive to the pet store later this week and pick up some of that and other foods I may think could work for both. I don't know what to do I have one cat that will eat anything the other wants you to open 5 cans a lot of which Allie can't eat because of the carbs. My wallet is not bottomless. Just tired and frustrated at this point and grateful there was no stones or blockages or anything else showed up.

I hear ya about 620.00 later. Unbelievable. I'm glad there were no stones or blockage . If they both like the pro plan I see no reason why they both can't eat it.
It's low carb and low phosphorus which is good to feed low phosphorus foods which I see you already ( talking about the FF Pates)
Tyler has been in remission since 1-24-21 and he loves the pro plan and I test him more than it's called for and these foods do not raise his BG at all
Let me know when you pick some up and let me know if they like them.
What did they say about the crystals in her urine?

Yeah Allie was just at the vet on 6/3 for a check up post 3 months. I won't skimp on treatment but the vets know when they got you.
Allie is mad we left her home alone today she is hissing at us!
Maybe Thursday I'll go to the pet store and have a look at that food and others. I have the Feline Foods list for cats with Kidney disease. I doubt Cassie will give up her dry but at only 1/4 - 1/3 a cup a day it is far from what she was eating. That phos is in everything, once you really take a look at cat food and break it down it is amazing what they really put in cat foos to make it sound healthy.
I'll have to let you know what treasures I find. Thanks Diane.

Poor Tyler, that sounds painful. I guess just like in people it is worse on the males than the females? Did he meow when he tried to go pee? Cassie doesn't but I'm sure those crystals hurt. I've passed my fair share of stones! Wish they were gold!
I got the full report and they want to do an ultrasound since some stones don't show up on an x-ray? I am heading to the store tomorrow and I was looking at all the food lists. I am thinking on keeping it below 2% DMB on the canned foods? The lower the better.
