Allie just threw her second lowest number @ 180 since DX. Could someone please explain and tell me what to look for or at? Should I up my testing?
She just had her mid-day feeding about 1/2 FF Pate Tender Chicken and Liver Feast. Her reading was prior to her eating.

@Wendy&Neko @tiffmaxee I know it is a holiday weekend....of course it is.

Pumpkin shares Allie’s sense of timing. I’m in the same boat as you freaking out about a number most people probably wouldn’t sweat at all.

I think just test a bit more often to make sure you’re getting her nadirs. Keep in mind she usually just drops by 30-50 from a quick read of your spreadsheet so there’s lots of room before she gets into dangerous territory. But test to make sure!

That’s good to see. Just test again in a couple of hours if you will be able. . You can feed a little lc and leave out some food if you need to leave. Remember to update your ss.

I see/saw where Pumpkin is blue too! So used to yellow but blues are great to see!

That's why I mentioned that she got her midday meal after her test. Allie lost weight (2lbs since DX) but has been maintaining @ 12.3lbs she was 14.1. I've figured out a feeding schedule and we are sticking to it.

Got it! Will do! A few more tests. Her poor ears but I need to be vigilant. At her +4 and +8 she tends to flatten but I'll have to get a test in.

Her next test is usually @ +8. Nope staying home all weekend and have a light schedule coming up this week. If I put food out she'd eat it LOL. I'd freeze some food if I had to leave and let that out for her.
Updated**

Thanks @tiffmaxee

** 208 for her +8 it took me almost 10 minutes to get blood out of her ear. My fault not hers at all! I'm sure it raised her sugar a few points, heck I was stressed. She ate 1/3-1/2 can of food next meal is 8pm and her shot.

Hooray for blues!

Next time, and this will happen again, I would have tested again in a couple (ie. two) hours, to see if she was still dropping.

Do you regularly feed that much food in the last half of the cycle?

So I should not feed her after 2pm since she gets her shot at 8am?
I thought about checking her, she usually stays higher @ her +2 she since eats a whole can at breakfast. I'm trying to space out her meals and stick to a schedule. She can eat!
Hopefully as we get her numbers to come down and stick to a schedule we can make adjustments and space them out further. Both cats used to eat at 8am-4pm-10pm (both cats would split a can at each meal) and they would graze on dry. Here is what I'm doing now:
8am 1 can
12pm 1/3-1/2
4pm - 5pm 1/3-1/2
8pm 1 can
12pm 1/3-1/2
1:30am-2am 1/3-1/2 can
She averages 3-4 cans a day and sometimes she comes to the dinner table something she never did. She even puts her paw on the seat and taps me with the other front paw!

*Edit* Tonight she sat at the table for about 2 minutes and left for her back porch never asked for food.

Ideally you don't want to feed after nadir. After that point, the insulin effect is starting to lose effect. Adding carbs at that point just makes it work harder, and you end up with loss of duration and higher preshot. Neko insisted on a late cycle snack, which had historically been a dinner time, so she got a small snack as close to zero carbs as I could.

When she's in blues (and then greens), she will feel better and start to feel less hungry.

I have Reveal limited ingredients, Nulo (have to look those up) I have Weruva and some Tiki, time to break those out. She came in at 282 for her PMPS and that is what bumps her up. I also feed as close to 0 as I can get. Maybe cut her off at half of the can period but that still puts her at +8 and then PMPS is 4 hours later.

We feed the FF Pates but the Phosphorus levels most are well into the upper 300's to well over 400. I may have to change gears yet again. I would think that would be of concern for the kidneys.

She has always eaten at 4-5pm so after 12 years I need to switch it up but I am usually gone in the mid afternoons (doctors, tests and whatever else comes up). I schedule early afternoon appointments for myself and then I also have to care for Mom and her appointments.

Hey …For some reason when I tried to open Allie’s spreadsheet, comes up with the BG numbers, not color, coated, and about three seconds after that, I just get kicked out.
Not sure why that is. Hopefully it’s just on my end, but everyone else is spreadsheets seem to be working ok. Maybe you’re in there changing some thing while I’m trying to look? Idk ‍♂️

Thanks! I will close it and reload it and see if that works. Weird! BRB

That was weird. I opened it again, and it did the same thing, then I opened it one more time and it was normal. As long as it’s working now.
A BLUE number wow. That’s good. Of course it makes you feel like you have to watch like a hawk but that’s moving in the right direction.

Thanks again for letting me know it was wonky?
Yes! A blue! Just not used to that feel like I need to fine tune her diet and feeding times more. Like Xena, Allie loves her food. I about passed out at the 180, was heading to make up for lost sleep and thought...no, I need to watch her. Hopefully we continue to do better.

So as a few of you know I talked my vet into allowing me to switch from Lantus to Glargine. I still do everything the same exact way since it's the same insulin just a different name. No dose adjustment? Feel silly asking but never hurts to ask.
Hope I posted this to the correct area of the Forum.
TIA

No difference between Lantus and Glargine, do everything the same. The FDA has ruled them identical.

A little housekeeping I merged your second post into this one. This is a busy enough forum that we ask people to just start one thread per day. If you have a new question, just modify the subject line to add it, and change the thread prefix to a "?" so people see you have a new question. Then remove the "?" when answered.

Can you take a look at Allie's Spreadsheet and help me with her eating time slots. I know in the beginning they say let them eat since their bodies can't regulate their foods. Seems your Neko was a foodie too!
