What a morning we have had!!!
The first question is how to show that Jack was 56 at his normal AMPS shot, but that I fed him, delayed the shot, and an hour later he was 96 and that is when he got his (reduced to 7 units) insulin (technically +13?) Now I also have readings 3 hours (104) and 5 hours (143) after his insulin that I want to make sure go in the right spot.
Second question is when to give him his PM shot? At the 'normal' 12 hour mark, or 12 hours after he had the insulin this morning? I have to go to NY tomorrow for my mother, so this derivation from the normal insulin schedule is just not good, along with the fact that no one qualified to properly handle an emergency with him is around to look at him tomorrow. He's making me crazy.
I'm guessing the fact that he had no kibble at all yesterday is what made his numbers drop so much. It was one of those rare days where he cooperated. Today, he insisted on kibble, and due to the lower number, I didn't really argue too much this morning. I did reduce this morning from 7.5u to 7.0u and he had kibble, so if the food theory is correct, he'll be higher at his PMPS time than he was yesterday.
Any and all answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
