Hi Bron and everyone, hope you all doing well. Apologies my SS not updated because of lack of finance could not get sensor. Also she is not letting me to use human meter.

therefore I did not increase her dose last few days.

my question is about AMODIP tablets for high blood pressure.

Have you ever use AMLODIPINE human tablets instead of AMODIP cat tablets ??

our pharmacist said it’s same thing just need to cut tablet to 4 .

and I could not buy BP matching yet as lack of finance and just wondering how often you check your babies blood pressure???

I remember many years ago I used to give one of my cats, Ming, who had high blood pressure Norvasc (which is the same as amlodipine) and it was the same as the human version. However I cant remember the strength of the tablets.
How can the pharmacist give you the tablets? And what is the strength of the amlodipine you are giving Cierra?

What seems to be the problem with you testing her BG?
Can you get your husband to help you test?
Have you tried to let her eat as you test?
I am concerned you do not know what her BG is and it looks as if she needs an increase

I got prescription from the vet and gave to the Chemist warehouse . Because they said that they can order it for me. Them phamasist said they do have human version same as this and just 6 dollars for the box. He told me to cut it(5mg) to 4 pieces to make it 1.25mg.

And what is the strength of the amlodipine you are giving Cierra?

im currently giving 1.25 mg.

What seems to be the problem with you testing her BG?sadly Could not hold her in one spot to do it at all…
Can you get your husband to help you test? He Is tried too. But couldn’t succeed

Have you tried to let her eat as you test? When she is eat she is more concerned about what I’m doing. Because I used to give insulin when she eat.

Yes Bron I felt she is getting sick again. After eat she is going under bed . Last night she kept talking to me. We did buy one this evening and from today we will have data again.

true Bron , I don’t know what to do, I was fishing through all food, and supplements other use . For pancreatitis most of them suggest to give digest enzymes from Adore beast. I was slowly introducing cooked meat . But today seems like she does have constipation . I don’t even have an egg at home to give to her :(
 
My Sheba had pancreatitis and I never gave her enzymes. I would concentrate on learning to hometest to try and save money.
Are you still buying the meow supplements?
Try some plain cooked pumpkin for the constipation. Just cut up some pumpkin and cook in a little water…nothing else. Then drain it and mash…nothing else. And give her a teaspoon in food a couple of times a day. Freeze the left over in small amounts for later.
Is it because you don’t have any money that you don’t have any eggs at home?

You mean learning how to Check BG ? Yes Bron I must do it. We are in a really tight financial situation. Someone game me a BG human meter free, only problem is Cierra is acting like we are going to kill her. But need to try again and again. I have pumpkin at home I’ll give her now. I gave her beef ( her dinner) cooked warm water . Didn’t give her beef. Only warm water….
Yes still I have that supplement bags . At night time when they need food I’m giving them Freeze dried meal add water.
had some eggs at home but husband eat it last night. We didn’t go to buy groceries today. Only brought Cierras free style libre .

some one told me she will help me to buy freestyle libre from her NDSS card still waiting for her.

Thee is not a lot you can do really. Cierra may never get it again. Sheba used to get flares of pancreatitis every so often but I managed it at home with antinausea medications, pain medications and I learnt to give sub Q fluids to her if she got dehydrated. I don’t know if your vet would let you do the sub Q fluids. They let caregivers do it in the US all the time, but a lot of Australian vets are not happy to let caregivers do it here.
I would try not to worry about Cierra getting pancreatitis again. I would try and concentrate on hometesting the BGs.

Thank you Bron … my hope and fingers crossed she will not get it again. I did ask about Sub Q from nurse, he was not happy with it. Thank you Bron I’ll give you an update is she feeling better tomorrow. I started to work from last weekend. My husband looking after these three for now.
 
I used the human 2 ½ mg tablets for my civi Mia. She started with 1/4 table daily, then 1/4 AM and PM and ended up with ½ tablet morning and ¼ evening. Initially I recalled that BP was checked every 2-3 weeks and then when under control less frequently. I bought a doppler BP so I could do @home with a helper. I did get hold of some 5 mg tablets @no cost and used ¼ of that AM

Bron what pain medication you did use ?

Cierra did poo , but I felt she is unwell, as soon as she eat going to under bed. ( since day before day) I did ask some ondansetron tablets but pharmacist said need prescription. She is liking her body. I have to do a blood test….
Do you know any good freeze dried topper to buy from pet ban ?

That’s okay Bron , after eat she is going under the bed. It’s unusual. Yes she is eating, but not asking more food, when I pat her tummy her third eye coverings 2/5 her eye
