For a change, I'm having a slow day after a week of being on my toes (=^ ◡ ^=)

Since the last 2 days, I've been giving Shen a higher CFU probiotic (Velgut 5 BN CFU capsule, twice a day) since he went back to having loose stools after only 2 days of normal stools in the middle. He had okayish stools today - not the best, but I hope upping the dose makes some difference.
I should have tried doubling the dose of the probiotic (Darolac 2.5 BN CFU) he was originally on but I'd run out and used the other probiotic that I had available at home.

I dunno if I jinxed my luck by saying I was having a slow day but Shen decided he was having none of it.
He shocked me with some unexpected peeing a couple of hours ago and I'm not sure if I should be worried enough to post and enquire about it but here goes nothing. (Should I post this instead on the Welcome & Main Forum, if it merits a post at all?)

In the 5 years we’ve stayed in this house, not once has he peed outside the bathroom. Today after I fed him his PM +1 snack, I heard some sounds from the kitchen. Knowing that he’s been hanging around in the kitchen a lot more since the last couple of days, I went to check and ensure that he wasn’t face deep in the other cats’ kibble, only to see him standing on the kitchen platform peeing in full glory.

I’m wondering what could have triggered this - whether it could be any medication he’s on or it was a random act of rebellion. Pre-diabetes, Shen often (read daily) used to knock stuff down from the kitchen platform/ dressing table/ TV unit to draw attention. But today I’d just fed him his +1 snack, so I don’t know if he was even trying to beg for more food or just lost control of his bladder. I don’t think I surprised him into doing it, as he was almost done by the time I caught him.

Things that were different today were these:
  1. I gave him deworming tablets (Feli-D (Praziquantel I.P.-20mg. Pyrantel Pamoate I.P.-230 mg.) - it’s been a long while (years) since he was last dewormed)
  2. His PM dose was delayed by 50 minutes today as I had to step out and got back later than expected
  3. The place I’d been to today was a friend's house with 6 cats there but I’ve been there many times before and haven’t had any of my cats react to any cat smell I might have brought back on me
  4. He got one snack less in the AM cycle since I had to step out. LOL. He's being treated like a prince these last couple of weeks, with all meals and snacks brought to him. I wonder if that's given him some ideas.
  5. He’s been on vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin since 3 days now (1000 mcg capsule once daily)
  6. He’s been getting Velgut Probiotic capsule with 5 Bn CFU twice daily since the past 3-4 days (earlier was on another probiotic 2.5 Bn CFU twice daily since nearly a month, as transitioning to wet food started causing loose stools)
I know it's a lot of variables so I should probably just keep an eye out for now.
But could any of the medication I’ve mentioned above cause a cat to lose bladder control? Although I do somehow feel that it was more deliberate than unintentional.
Shen’s sort of reverting to his pre-diabetic self so I wouldn’t mind him knocking down stuff to demand food, assuming his peeing was attention-seeking. But peeing on the kitchen platform (or anywhere other than the bathroom, really) will lead to both of us being chucked out of the house.

He’s been so patient, adjusting and well-behaved about his diabetes stuff that I’m still reeling in shock at what happened. Luckily no one else in the house saw it, so we’re safe for now :D
I do hope it was a one-off incident but if it’s avoidable in the future by stopping any medication he’s currently on or not doing certain things, I’d rather nip it in the bud now.

I’m going to have to keep my eyes peeled for such accidents since he still pees quite frequently even after seeing BGs in blues and greens.

I don't think the supplements you are are giving should impact his peeing. Typically pee incidents are medical (for example a urinary tract infection), or behavioural. How often each day is he peeing now?

Typically pee incidents are medical (for example a urinary tract infection), or behavioural.

He did have a UTI (organism detected Klebsiella oxytoca) for which he was on an antibiotic course (got over on 4th May). He’s due for another urine and C&S test to check if it’s cleared up.

How often each day is he peeing now?

He goes 8-10 times a day. He doesn’t drink water by himself ever since switching to wet food, so I’ve been adding a couple of teaspoons of water (sometimes more) to all his pre-shot meals and snacks (tbh his meals are also snack portions right now, so he gets about 10-12 snacks per day).

That seems like a lot of peeing still. When Neko was in numbers as good as Shen's (rare, she bounced more), she'd pee 2-3 times a day. I also added water to Neko's raw and she drank, but not a lot.
