Newbie 5/6/23: Brand New ReliOn Premier Classic meter broke?

Went to stick strip in & the blood droplet symbol no longer appears, goes straight to the number zero mg/dL on the screen. Tried pushing the buttons, reinserting strip, etc. Anyone ever hear of this? Great timing when I'm trying to start the insulin tomorrow. Don't have time to check manual for troubleshooting or call Walmart 1800#, must run for cat food & FD supplies (& a back up meter anyway like I read here... if I have enough $!).. Thanks!

Try removing the battery for a minute or so and then reinserting it.
If still problem call Walmart. There should be a number to call on the back of your meter. There is on my Premier Blu meter. I needed a magnifying glass to read the number.

Sorry, guys, what does 'bump' mean? Update: Called Walmart & before they even started troubleshooting, the meter suddenly started recognizing the strips & displaying the blinking blood drop instead of the 0mg screen. I had tried a few strips the night before when it happened, then different ones from the same container that morn, so I don't know if some of the strips are defective or the device had a glitch. Of course, Walmart blamed a few faulty strips, but now I'm so nervous that it won't be accurate that I bought another meter. Of course, good to have I read here for backup anyway (obviously!).

Contact Relion. Do not tell them the meter is for a cat. If it is defective or if the strips are defective, they will replace them.
