Strange enough, I checked him at +1.5, and he was 311. Then I tested at +2 to determine his morning snack, first strip read 355, and I said WTAF? Tested again and he was 308... That seems like a big gap in test strips. I only opened this batch yesterday.

So weird!!

Those readings are pretty much within the meter variance of 15-20%. I feel your frustration :bighug:. If it helps, I just tell myself that they're all too high for my goals and therefore I don't stress out over the number. We're already upset over the high number, why add more stress :rolleyes:.

I did a control, ( which I need to replace and can't find the Relion solution anywhere) one strip was 117 and the other 120. I also checked him,bc he was acting like he was starving and we caught a 280, so maybe just a wonky strip.

The last 2 days stressed me out so bad, I'll take yellows.:joyful:

I'm going to change the batteries. Also, I normally don't retest on highs unless it's an unusual spike, so maybe I just never noticed the variance before. It literally happened again, got a 308 so I checked again and 258.. I'm going to order a new meter just in case there's something going on.

I tested on 2 different meters, same sample at +4, it was a 1 point variance. I ordered a new Relion just to have as a backup, and some strips for this OneTouch meter my Mom had from when Dad was on steroids.

I've spent money on things I don't need, so to me it's an investment to have it on hand, because I will not buy a new AlphaTrak, and you can't even find the AT2 strips under $80
