Real high this morning. Maybe he’s gonna come down finally? I sure hope so.
I wasn’t talking about doing a sliding scale, but more just alternating two doses… I know it’s not ideal. And I haven’t done it, as yet. Just… thinking. The input and thoughts are appreciated.
The food would make some sense - if he’d eat it. All his favorite flavors of Fancy Feast so far are around 0-2% carbs - ie, fish. (Plus most of the Tiki Cat is lower phosphorus - though not all flavors - so I’ve been trying to keep that as about half his wet diet, and those are all zero carb.) He won’t even touch anything chicken, and beef is iffy. Any food that’s grilled, shredded, or otherwise has gravy is too high carb for him to eat regularly, those are what I use to actually bring him up from a low. He would happily just eat more of his 5% YA kibble, but I’ve been having to limit how much I have out at a time for the other kitty currently living in my room (Jerry), who has a really touchy tummy. (He loves it too, and tends to overeat himself into diarrhea.)
Looking at Friskies now on the chart, that has some possibility. I’m not used to thinking of that as a healthy food because it’s cheaper, lol, it’s what we feed the other cats and even outdoor ones, but it looks like the pates are 5-6% carbs, which is probably about what he needs. And they do have some fish flavors. May be worth a try.

Bit of it going around today - I blame the full moon.
