Hi all, Raven‘s variations in numbers continue to puzzle me and I‘m sticking to 3.5 dose. This morning we‘re in the low 100s - similar as yesterday. But while it seemed the insulin was working in the am yesterday, by the afternoon yesterday numbers had jumped to 305 by +9.

There seems a lot of variability on how well the insulin works. I‘m very careful about not giving actual fur shots. But I am varying the shot sites trying to find a good location that produces reliable results. Currently trying the side of the stomach. Any tips/thoughts?

It's possible he is going lower later in the cycle at night and bouncing from there. The sharp dives at night might also be contributing to the bouncing. You might want to try feeding a snack every hour in cycles last 3 nights to slow drops.

I shot Neko for 5 years just below the shoulder blades, with rare exception. She didn't like it anywhere else.

That 305 yesterday seems out of place, unless Raven got some contraband.

If following TR, you would be increasing to 3.75 units. Nadirs are high enough you have room for an increase. And you've held the dose longer than the 10 cycles TR calls for.

Sorry I think there‘s a couple of words missing from your last sentence. Every hour throughout the whole cycle?

I‘m hesitant to increase given that there‘s a question if he‘s dropping low and spiking as a result during times I haven‘t been able to record.

Does he have food left out for him at night? Food is the tool we use to keep kitty safe if it looks like he might be going lower.

If your before bed test sees Raven dropping fast and possibly low, you can always load up the petfeeder with higher carb food than usual. Paws crossed for the new dose.
