? 26/4 - Freya’s new 6 unit dose seems to to working?

After a helter-skelter 24hrs of BG tests, we hit a target earlier today, yet as this was still Day1 on the TR regime, I panicked. I’ve nothing but pre-loaded 6-unit syringes to administer to Freya until my husband gets back home (he’s a 50/50 attendee) so fed Freya naughty treats just to ensure she won’t go hypo overnight.
Excuses made: if the 6-unit dose continues to drop her so drastically tomorrow, what should we we aim for as a target BG level before we begin to reduce her insulin & by how much/how quickly? I understand the 3-day protocol for gaining control, but surely, if your cat is going constantly hypo, it can’t be right to continue for a further 3 days? As always, thank you in advance for your expert advice!

She has not gone hypo or even hit low numbers. I understand it’s scary when you first see green bg but it soon becomes addictive! With TR you only reduce if the bg drops under 50. When that happens you will reduce the next cycle to 5.5.

Normal bg on a human meter is 50-100 or so.

Please tell me why you think she was hypo. Nice to see a green nadir.

Thank you. I didn’t think she was going hypo, but I was afraid that because her BG had dropped so dramatically that if I gave her another 6 unit dose, that she would.

Good to know. What was much more likely and did happen was a bounce from going lower than her body expects. Good you shot a full dose.
