I have decided to switch back to SLGS my time constraints are not allowing me to test as often or how many hours I will be gone during the day. I have automatic feeders for boths cats due here Thursday.

Also I'm not sure how everyone overrides the fact when ordering or buying insulin it is for a pet and none of the RX cards work or even at a pharmacy they say it is for a pet no discount applies.

We are up to 5 units right now so looks like I need to stock up. Any ideas would be apprenticed. I would not even go through the expense for a Libre for me each month but then Allie here decided to become diabetic like me.

I know she is over eating but she is so demanding and convinced she is starving to death. I know they stay hungry being unregulated how do you not feed them? I try adding water to her food but that makes her pee more.
 
You can have the vet write the script for generic lantus ,many members use it, The brand is much more expensive, just call around and see who might have the generic

Allie if you are going to switch back to SLGS you need to note that on your signature and spreadsheet just put SLGS and the date after the TR .
It's also good to put a line above the date you switch back to SLGS and just type SLGS and you can color code it :cat:

The GoodRx coupon for real Lantus says it can't be used for a pet. There is no such restriction for the generic glargine.

Thanks! I will work on the SS and signature when I get back today have to leave by 10am no idea when we will get back ...Doctors. When I first started this journey and I was looking for insulin and syringes I was told that I couldn't use the savings cards because it was not for a human and that a vet had written the script?

Not sure how others get past that point that the scripts are not for a human patient.

The other day took my mom to the doctors...40 mins away we were turning onto the street where the doctor was located his office called he was called to the hospital for emergency surgery.. we waited 3 hours saw him for 3 mins. so we were gone almost 5 hours. I am losing the most important times to collect data for her SS. I don't feel safe not knowing how long I'll be gone at times.

I have considered a libre but have a feeling with her it wouldn't last long! I don't have anyone close by to come and feed her anyways ..my sister lives close by but that is another story. Wish I would have never moved to be closer to family, had more support where I used to live.

You are testing enough for TR. You just need one mid-cycle test in addition to the PS test. TR will help you get her to a better dose sooner. Once she hits a breakthrough dose you can switch back to SLGS. Getting her to good numbers will reduce her hunger, thirst and urination.

Thought there should be 3 tests per cycle?

I'm not sure how to put a line in the SS I'll have to go to the Forum on the SS and have a look. Her BS was 303 this morning after a 1:30 am snack.

If the coupons don't work for you there are members that order generic lantus from
Marks Marine in Canada with no problem

Go to the website type in lantus , they have basaglar and semglee ,generic lantus, many members use it . Call them and ask them for the price for 5 pens for either one and ask them how long will it take to get to you
They are very nice to talk to
They will contact your vet for a script.
and another neat thing about buying from Canada...you'll never need another script again. They'll refill it as long as it's needed instead of requiring a new script every year)

I would start another post and in your Title put ? Help Good RX coupon not working for pets
Then you can tell them the pharmacy's said they won't fill it for you because it's for a pet. How did others get it filled

If you can put switch to SLGS on your SS on line 95 that would be better than writing it in the remarks section only because somemes members don't look at that.
They might think you were following SLGS the whole time by looking at your signature and up top on your SS :cat:

Yes please I can use a spreadsheet but not make one! I can switch out hard drives reset a PC do just about anything but make a spreadsheet...Ugh I'll stay on TR

OK they are going on my list to call in the morning!! I'm paying $108.00 for one pen to Chewy and the vet I quit I was paying $75.00 cash...weird!!!

I have one for each cat ordered 5 days ago should be here tomorrow! I can't wait. I have not gotten the steal inserts yet until I see how they adjust. I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone here how expensive this gets. They also bot got new cat trees! I can't wait to try the feeders it will make me feel better. Like the other day when we got help up for hours at the doctors.
 
Yes! Please stay on TR. And you would bump her up to 5.5U tomorrow. Between 5U and 10U dose changes are in multiples of 0.5U and not 0.25U.

My feeders came but the ice packs do not sit under slot number 3 ...Would you use frozen canned food? When 3 rotates, that leaves slot 4 without any ice under it.

Might have to do that for slots 3 and 4.
4 moves when 3 advances so that timed meal would be at 3am and it would be off the ice pack for 4 hours. I know a lot of other use this feeder but I'm not comfortable with that food not being over the ice. They should have moved the battery location under slot 0 since that one is open. Design flaw in my opinion.
