Just wanted members to be aware of this in case you are feeding this for every single meal
I also reached out to Weruva just like one of our members did and was told the same thing

I reached out to Weruva and spoke with a representative. She pointed me to the website https://weruva.com/wx/ which explains the disclaimer for "not complete and balanced" food is because ...
"Wx Phos Focused foods is not complete and balanced because it does not contain adequate levels of phosphorus." Per the AAFCO standards.
It does meet all the other AAFCO nutritional standards.
This food is not complete and balanced and should not be fed as the only meal to cats on an everyday basis.

Diane I have just emailed Weruva to ask them much the same question.
The prescription dry low phosphorus foods also have low phosphorus levels and they can be fed all the time, so I can’t see the difference with the Weruva low phosphorus foods.
They have to say they don’t comply with the AAFCO because of the low phosphorus in that food.

That makes sense Bron I never thought of it that way

No, Dianne. I meant RX, the foods vets can prescribe. The foods sold at vet offices such as Hills CD, WD, etc.
Hi Elise ,yes this I know , I was just wondering if the Weruva WX could be fed as a meal all the time since I read on their site it shouldn't be. A member had posted this before about it :cat:
Like Bron said above

I agree with Bron
I don't see why someone couldn't feed it also as a meal everyday

I understand. My point is that the vet diets are listed as complete because they can get away with it since vet prescribed. The Weruva ‘officially “ can’t be labeled as certified because of the lower phosphorus. But it is fine fir a ckd cat.

I heard back from the Weruva people. They said that because of the lower phosphorus levels, it doesn’t comply with the AAFCO requirements. But apart from that it is nutritional complete. Basically the same as the prescription foods.
If I had a cat that needed low phosphorus I would feed the Weruva food.
I would post the email I got back but I can’t find it. If I do I will post it.

Thanks Bron, that solves that mystery :cat:
