Making a schedule shift after a skipped shot

I apologize if this should have stayed in my introductory thread.

I'm two days in to this, with Vetsulin at the moment.

Our first shot occurred at 10:15 am at the vet. I work, and so I've been shifting the time up each day by 1/2 hour, which the vet told me would be acceptable.

After a lower than expected pre shot reading last night, I followed site guidance and skipped the shot. Is it acceptable to make a larger schedule shift tomorrow am, and if so, by how much? I had planned to test tomorrow at 8:45, feed, allow half an hour before the shot, give shot at 9:15. My immediate goal is to get the shot to 8:15 am, although 7:15 would be better.

(And I'm just how realizing how daunting this is going to be moving forward, as I live alone and often have night meetings. I do live close to work, though, so I'll be able to come home for tests and smaller meals.)

Thank you - again, I'm grateful to members of this forum.

EDIT: I tested at 7:45 and shot at 8:15.

If you skip a shot you can change the schedule to suit your self. I see you skipped last nights shot but you gave one this morning.
What time did you give it this morning.(ie how many hours after the skipped shot?)
I see you edited and said you shot at 8.15am. Is that where you want to be or do you want to do earlier?
Have you thought about a timed automatic feeder so you can leave scheduled feeds out for your kitty?

Honestly, I'm not sure where I want to be. I've been trying to shift up to suit my work schedule, but I also have a horse I ride before work in the warmer months. It may be better to leave at 8:15 for now. This is all very new.

I haven't thought about an automatic feeder but I can look into one. Thank you.

Bron, if I suspect a fur shot (I think I got it in, I'm just uncertain), is there a suggested time to do a new test?

Never, never give another dose of insulin if you think you have given a fur shot. Ever!
What do you mean do a new test?
If you mean a BG to see if the insulin is working, you could test at +2.
If you suspect a fur shot, just carry on as normal and test the BG when you normally do. Then you give the next dose of insulin when it is due 12 hours later. Not before that. We all give fur shots at some point so don’t worry.

Thank you, Bron!

Yes, I meant a BG test, to see if it's dropped. I'm trying to spare her poor ears, but I'm worried, particularly as we skipped last night. So more for my peace of mind today, but I'm also working to establish a base of BG numbers throughout the day as we're new to this.
