Not sure how to link previous using my phone, so can do that when I get back.
Here we go, a high preshot again, though perhaps this could be from the big drop yesterday from 400 something to 200 something. Sounds like it's not the Clavamox since theres no sugar. I didn't give the mirtazapine pill I found because even though I'm 99% sure it's from yesterday I'm worried about that what if... like with insulin, I don't give again if I'm not sure how much was given first time. I'll ask vet office today and if they think still ok, can give it tonight.

Question: could the ketones trace and low potassium be indicative of DKA starting?

With trace of ketones I would try and get Baby to eat more food and add a teaspoon of warm water to the food each time if she will let you.
Test again, at least daily, while there are ketones present. And keep up the extra food and fluids.
I see you increased the dose of insulin 4 cycles ago.
Post what the ketone result is in the morning please so we can decide what to do with the dose.
Why is she on Clavomax? Was that for a suspected UTI? Did she have symptoms? Did they do a C&S?

Did you get the potassium checked again after the March 23 labs in the SS? The potassium in that is normal.

Thanks, Bhooma for posting my previous threads link. I didnt mean to seem lazy or anything. Mornings have been so hectic here and I've been waking at the last moment because I've been so exhausted, so trying to post on my phone instead of booting up the computer.
Checked for ketones this morning and negative. I dont know why my strips show negative if the vet is showing trace. Shes really high right now. If you guys think I should up her dose tonight or tomorrow morning just let me know. She's so unpredictable at the moment. She's on Clavamox for a UTI. symptoms were peeing outside the box.

Gave the 3.25 but thinking to do 3.5 in the morning if nothing good tonight. She's been on it before so I'm not too concerned to jump her up.
Also she finally made a formed poop! :joyful: y'all have no idea how happy I am about that, after days of diarrhea.
I tried to check for ketones again and I believe it was negative but sometimes my eyes arent always so sure if it looks a smidge pink, like it's not the trace color but it looks a little pinker now maybe than the negative? I'll try to get another sample tonight. I wish they made the colors more distinctive. I tend to see pinks/reds/oranges different than others so it drives me crazy.
She ate good and drank good while I was at work. Vet office said not to give mirtazapine until the next dose time since not 100% sure if the spit- up pill was the new dose or a previous one, though I'm 99% sure it's the new one but oh well..she's been eating good without it so I'm hoping we'll be ok.

C&S is culture and sensitivity….when the vet sends away a urine sample to the lab to see if there is any infection and what antibiotics the bug is sensitive to. A lot of vets crony do it and just take a guess with the antibiotics.

It can be hard to sometimes tell if the ketones are negative or trace. I used to have the same problem. If you are unsure…it is most likely negative. And it gets darker as time goes by. So you need to read it at 15 seconds. Take a photo at 15 seconds if you are unsure, because by the time a minute has gone by, the test strip will be darker and is no reliable.

See how she goes over night with the BGs before deciding to increase the dose. With SLGS it is only every 7 days but with ketones in the picture and DKA history we can fast track that a bit. Maybe post and ask for advice.
I live in Australia….how many hours until your AMPS.?

I know she took a urine sample, using an ultrasound to help her do it, so sounds like she did? She's back at the office tomorrow and I can call and ask that plus more questions ahead of our appointment Monday. She's probably tired of hearing from me lol.

10 more hours. I'll definitely make sure to post and double-check on here before changing anything.
I appreciate all the help and advice!
