I just feel like a broken record - I’m so indecisive about what to do when his PMPS is low.

I’m hesitant to decrease his dose, because the vet told me specifically not to, but the only other thing to do would be not to dose him, which I did a couple nights ago.

I don’t want to create a rift between me and his vet, but I honestly don’t know if I should give him a full unit.

Can you get a test or two before bed if you were to shoot? If you can, you can shoot the full dose. Btw, he earned a reduction with that drop below 90 today, so you would go down to 0.75U.

I could do a +1 and a +2, but I was up the other night until 2am testing him because I dosed him 1 unit when his PMPS was 107.

Maybe I should just decrease to .75 and take the scolding from the vet?

I would definitely decrease. He dropped to the 60s on this dose a few day back and he is back down to 85 even after a skipped shot 3 cycles ago.

I was an hour late dosing him, hence the +1, but he was 123 before I gave him a .75 dose.

Oh, yes - I fed his regular dinner - FF pate and a sprinkle of dry so he’ll be interested enough to actually eat some and not just lick at it

I remember discussing this before, but cutting out the Orijen dry or replacing it with a low carb dry food like Young Again or Dr. Elsey's could make even a bigger difference to his BG.

@Jenny&Tux if you shot an hour late, you would put "105 @+12" in the AM+11 cell and "123 @+13" in the PMPS cell. You would then put the tests for +1, +2 etc like you normally would after PMPS.

To get back to your usual shot time of 8am/pm (from 9pm tonight), you would shoot at 8:30am/pm tomorrow and then back to 8:00am/pm the day after.

Hi Jenny if you can color code the 105 and the 123 BG numbers from last night blue that would be great, you have to color code them manually

I have some Young Again on order - excited to try it! I only sprinkle a few kibbles in his wet food - I put some in a shaker container that Parmesan came in lol - works well - like cat sprinkles.

When you click on the icon to fill the cell colour, it should give you an option to choose a custom colour. That will have the blue and green we use in the SS.

Yes - just a sprinkle over his wet, sometimes only once a day. I try to get him to eat 2 cans of FF a day, putting it out at 8am & 8pm, but he does not sit and eat for very long. Throughout the day, I will add a little water (he like to lick up the “gravy” it makes), and stir it around a bit. If I notice he hasn’t eaten much, I will add his “sprinkles”, but it’s never more than 10 or so single kibbles. He never finishes cans, but he’s come close a couple days.

OK. On the Google Sheets app, when you choose Fill Colour, you see 2 sets of colour palettes - Basic and Custom. If you go to Custom you will see the blue you want.
