03/23 Sly, AMPS 120, +1 144, +4 176, +6 250, +10 347, PMPS 305, +2 327, +4 299, +10 287

Did you shoot? You have shot a 113 and a 105 on 5.5. Can you monitor if you shoot?
Are you stalling without food? Did you retest?
Sorry if this sounds harsh typing on my phone :cat:

No worries,

I did not shoot, I stalled and he's 108 at +12.5

I let him eat, he was starving. All LC.

I can't monitor until I take care of my rescues, that will take about an hour.

I'm going to stall until I come back in about hour-ish, and then shoot something. Maybe I will take it down to 5 units.

Looks good

He went up to 95, but that could be his breakfast from +12, it takes an hour sometimes to see him rise from food.
I can stall another hour until I'm comfortable shooting, I can always close the gap for time.

I'm just not sure if I should further lower the dose even though I am using 70 as a reduction point.

Also, last test, I had enough blood for 2 tests and he was 100 on the AT2, I just wanted to get a control for the human meter.

Sorry I wasn't around earlier. Like Angela said, you've shot these levels before and you could monitor. Stalling without food can sometimes cause numbers to drop making the decision to shoot harder. Did he drop to 85 after food? Since he was clearing a bounce, he could have been having a late nadir - even as late as +13.

That's an amazing recovery from a skipped shot. :woot: Some cats can really zoom down the dosing ladder once they hit a breakthrough dose. It can be a hairy ride for a caretaker. :nailbiting:

In the SS you'd put all the readings from +12 to +15 in the AMPS cell so that people know you shot 3 hours late this morning!

No problem Bhooma! You have a life too!! Lol

Yes, the +13.5 drop to 85 was after food, he was a screaming mimi!! I'm glad I stalled, because he may have tanked at that time., and I had to sort of stay on schedule, I'm alone in the mornings to feed the rescues and do my ranch chores. I did not want to BCS, because it didn't look like a bounce clear to me.

I did reduce to 5 units, and will stick with it. If it doesn't work, we go up in a week.

Ok, so put ALL of those numbers in the AMPS!! I'll do that shortly.

Yes, he's freaking me out!! Haha! I definitely think he may be shedding weight already, I have to buy a baby scale.

I tested +1 and he rose to 144, probably normal rise plus the medium carb food

Not sure where he's headed, but I'm still glad I stalled, especially with that 85 in between there. Rather a day high, than a minute low.

I respect anyone who can shoot into low numbers and ride out those drops, but his sensitivity to everything in only the last few days has me thinking, and I just want to be very careful with him. <3 :cat:

What is this a result of? I can't imagine his depot filled again in 2 days... Could it??
The joy of larger depots, they hang around longer after reductions and one day skip isn't as much of an impact as it is with smaller doses. So yes, the 5.25 unit dose could have been showing you what it does. For people above 5 units, we generally suggest changes by 0.5 units at a time, unless just tweaking a dose. I would have gone from 5.5 units to 5.0 units. Sly was just telling you the same.

Side note, take a look at 3/13 AM and PM cycles, and see the similarity to yesterday's AM and PM cycles? I might have gotten a later test last night. You can sometimes find patterns in a cat's BG over a few cycles. That can be helpful in giving you a heads up to what might be coming next.

Hi Wendy, yes in hindsight this morning, I realized I should have grabbed a +5 or 6. I also wondered why he was so chill at. PM+ 8 when I got up to give him his 3am snack... instead of screaming in my face that he was hungry!

I did try finding a pattern last night, but the last few days, his nadir has had a bit of a lag, so it wasn't clear. I do see what you're talking about though.

Like I said, I'm glad I stalled, because it is noticeably difficult to boost his BG when he dips low, and that 85 this morning after eating, was a little steep considering I hadn't shot yet.

We'll ride out the 5 units and see what he achieves. I am happy with his progress though, 2.5 months into our journey.

Now, as for later, I plan on dosing at the same time I dosed this morning. Is that correct? And then tomorrow I start counting back to his usual time in 30 minute increments per day?

You can dose up to 1/2 hour earlier than you shot tomorrow. However, if you get at test at +11, and he's sky high, post for help. You might be able to shoot even earlier. But it would just be the one time.

Hey Wendy!

If his +11 looks like his +10, can I shoot 30 minutes early?
