She ate better last night but is still not 100% herself yet. I called off work today so I can monitor and encourage her to eat, plus I'm still trying to catch up on sleep here and there. Want to nip this pancreatitis thing in the bud so it doesn't get out of hand. Will give her another Ondansetron tablet this morning since it seems to be helping.

I'm thinking 2.5 for her morning dose. 1.5 seems too little; I think 2 is conservative, considering her eating situation, but maybe still too conservative. I already saw Bhooma agrees with 2.5 at the least; just checking if that is still the case or if anyone thinks I should do less and do the 2 (I don't think so but thought I'd double-check).

I would give 2.5. She earned a reduction from 3U to 2.75U yesterday per SLGS and if you want to be conservative, you can go to 2.5U considering the food change.

A reminder again that Lantus dosing is based on nadirs and not preshots or highs.

Did 2.5. Hoping she'll eat for me today. We're behind in shot time again...8 am and I start work at 8 tomorrow. I dont like to move her more than 15 min. A day because I think she got sensitive to that when I moved her up a half hour in the past, so great. I'll probably be a bit late going in tomorrow. Please somebody abolish DST :banghead::banghead:

DST is archaic! It's very annoying, especially when it comes to feeding times, etc!

How is Baby today?

She's mostly still the same. Not really going and eating on her own. I've been enticing her to eat about every hour. Hasn't pooped yet again.

I don't know how long it normally takes a cat to recover from a flare up. I know before it took quite a while. I'll talk to the vet tomorrow. Maybe she'll want to add back in the Gabapentin and mirtazapine. I feel like in the process of trying to make things better, things got worse. :(Sometimes best to leave well enough alone.

If she's having a flare, it's not necessarily from the food change. It sounds like she's having food aversion completely.
I'd take her for an examination anyway, she might need fluids and an antibiotic.

Do you guys think I could push shot back 15 min tonight and 15 tomorrow morning so I can make work in time? Normally I'd do 15 minutes in just 1 day alone. When I was thinking more on it, it was when I once did a half hour back one shot and a half hour back the next that I think later acted like a sort of increase.
Yesterday am shot was at 641, pm at 634, time change, and 801 this am. Would like to get to 730 am tomorrow. Just debating if worth doing or if a bad idea.

I'd be concerned about the not eating, and if you swing it too fast it may very well act like an increase.

Sounds then like my best bet is to give it to her at 8 again tonight and then tomorrow morning at 745 and if I'm about 10 minutes or so late to work, it is what it is.
I went back out to the store and got her some more flavors and she just ate some Friskies Seafood Catch pate. :cat: That alone was worth the trip!
I plan to keep pushing the food on and off throughout the night since I'm not sure how well she'll eat while I'm at work tomorrow. I'll check on her at lunch time and also see what the vet thinks or wants to do, if she wants to see her or prescribe her something, etc.

Oh I'm glad she ate! Maybe try the stinkiest ones, they are more tantalizing even if they make us want to vomit!

I'm measuring her food for the cycle now and looks like I actually got her to eat a decent amount of food throughout the day. Not bad. Thing is I just need her to do it on her own. Once that happens, then we're back in business.
Oh yeah, and she also needs to poop again. :banghead:

She'll poop! Ask the vet about the Miralax, or whatever is safest for her. Poop is important!

Oh boy a blue. Not too excited to see it yet, considering the circumstances. That makes me extra nervous how she'll do when I'm at work?

So far she has been going and eating the seafood wet food on her own.
If she consistently feeds herself, then I'll feel much better about blues.

Maybe it was a pancreatitis flare causing the inappetence. You might need to keep her on Ondansetron twice a day for a few days.
