81!!! PMPS 235 Baby G +2 310

I think what's frustrating to me is that FD is IMO an art and not fully a science. ER vet thinks 1.5; notes from a previous internal med vet said if eat less than half meal but glucose over 200, give full 3; and then there's my own gut and what's on here. Wish it were more black and white. This would be way easier if she just ate! :arghh: going to give ondansetron afterwards and see if that helps.

Can you guess...Temptations. and chicken bites. Maybe a smidge DM dry because I tried breaking up the Temptations and mixing them in. I blocked off the couch because I want her out for easy access for feeding and testing.
Not sure but I might be calling off work tomorrow or not. I don't know how I can leave her like this.

Yeah, I would get a vet appointment on Monday, better to be safe than sorry. See what the med does for her, and try to get her to drink, or, do you have plain broth?

She's drinking now. I did buy some of those fancy feast broth packets but she's not interested thus far. She ate a tiny bit of this other treat they make that actually looks like a chocolate candy bar. I thought, figures. ....
omg praise God, she's eating her salmon pate now! :bighug::joyful:

Oh that is fantastic! :joyful:

Does the med generally work that fast?

I truly believe it was the Dr Elseys. I don't know why. It's supposed to be better and healthier. But other than some higher numbers, before she ate that stuff she had an awesome appetite, was going potty regularly, acting normal, etc. Its a shame about the food.

From what I read it takes a half hour to kick in. I didn't really think it did much when she had pancreatitis before, but hey if its helping now, I'm appreciative. I think too I just tried to act more normal and played music... I think the more I baby her and hover the more she "acts out." Maybe that helped too, not sure.

Sylvester eats Young Again dry, it has psyllium and keeps him going number 2s.

Well now she's high... could be a bounce, could be the reduced dose isn't enough, could be the carbs from all the treats... can't win at everything. At least I shouldn't have to worry tonight about a hypo. Once I know her appetite is fully returned, I can fine tune the dose again.

I heard that about the Young Again, that it tends to make cats go and for some it even causes diarrhea. I heard too that it tends to make their poops smellier? I never got to find out because my girl wouldn't even taste the food. She didn't like their treats either.

Yes the poops are a little funky, and initially he had the squirts, but it leveled out with Fortiflora, and now he goes every 24 hours, and they're perfect.. Lol

You know her best, but I don't think Dr. Elsey's is the problem. She has been eating it for well over a week now. Give her body some time to get used to lower numbers. Years of being in high numbers has made them the new normal for her body. So lower numbers will make her feel out of sorts for a few days. She is also going to want to eat less and drink less in lower numbers. I know you are sleep deprived and worried to death about hypos and cannot deal with this level of testing but it's only for a short while - a transition.

Here are 2 spreadsheets of people following SLGS. Their cats are tightly regulated and they do not need to test day and night. I an hopeful that with a little effort now, Baby will get there as well.

1.5U might be too much of a reduction all at once. I would try 2.5u at least.
