3/8 Mikan TR starts: AMPS 227, +2 224, +3 157

@Bandit's Mom, we started on TR this morning. Although her AMPS was lower this morning, I went up on the dose to 1.5. I have to be at work between +4~+7 but I've got MC and HC ready at hand. If unusually low at +3, okay to give her a bit of MC or HC, depending on the value?

You want to use MC and/or HC only if she is dropping low (below 70 or so) or dropping hard early in the cycle. Can you get start with a +2 so we know what to be prepared for?

Stay with LC unless she drops over a 100 or 120 points at +2, in which case you might want to feed some MC. Otherwise, just feed LC and get a +3.

It was a few minutes early but Mikan was right there in the kitchen, so I tested her. 224 - no change. Rather perplexed but less alarmed now. She wasn't interested in eating. Too busy tossing, chasing, grabbing and licking her catnip toy (CATS!).

I will test her +3 and see.

She ate 1/2tsp 5%LC food.

I'll test her just before I go and will come back to test shortly after +7.

Stay high and feel discouraged.
Suddenly a bit low and feel scared.

Can I ever win this game?

She is not that low today. It is a nice gentle curve. Feline diabetes can be a bit of a rollercoaster for newly diagnosed cats but with time, the numbers will settle down.

She did not eat before I left. at +7 she was 61mg/dL with AT2. I gave her FF LC pate with 1 tsp 11% MC. I'll test her again in one hour before I go back to work.
