Well, the feeder didn’t open for the +6 & +9 feedings. I have the catmate feeder and it’s got the knob that turns. It was working fine until last night of course! I had it set for +6 & +9. I woke up at +7 and realized it hadn’t opened. So, I tested her BS and fed Snugs a snack. I set my alarm for +9 to see if the second compartment opens and nope the dial wasn’t even working. So I fed Snugs her snack. I had read reviews about the digital feeders not having wide enough openings and being too deep. So, any ideas on the best auto feeder? A tried and true feeder that’s good for cats. So..I will order a digital one and set alarms until I receive one. Ugghh

Morning Sandy I have read that members will put small glass bowls in the auto feeders if they are too deep

, I used the Petsafe5 and loved it as did Gracie. I put these small dishes in the compartments so she didn’t have to eat off plastic.
got them at Williams Sonoma. They fit perfectly into my PetSafe 5 auto feeder.
These are Williams Sonoma Dip Bowls, sized 3 1/2" diam., 3/4" high; 2-oz. cap.

I've ordered little bowls that I will place in the slots with something under them to raise them if needed.

If the Pet Safe 500 doesn't come with ice packs which I don't think it does a member said
Another option would be to just add ice cubes in each tray - when it melts you get water added to the food, so win-win.
