Hello everyone
My Freestyle Libre 2 is expiring in 5 hours so I'm assuming I'm getting incorrect values as a result based on the concurrent Relion measurement I just did. I reviewed the Libre2 downloaded data and it matches with our Libre2 scanned value... see comparison below.
Tommy ate ~1 oz of wet Glycobalance around 3:30pm (+3 3h15m). Usually we mix 2:1, Glyco + FF, but I gave him straight Glyco because I was panicking and it has a lot of carbs.
Note: I'm slowly getting him off Glycobalance and strictly on FF over the next week or two.
I just tested concurrently, my Relion Premier Classic gave me a reading of 109 vs the Libre 2 reading of 61. I should have done this a couple of hours ago to compare/track values but... hindsight 20/20.
I'm going to resume testing every 15m with the Relion until he's past the nadir point (insulin seems to peak around +5.)
Right before testing with Relion, I panicked and gave Tom about 10 Temptations. We have FF Gravy Lovers and Karo syrup as well as Temptations in case he continues to dip below 60, based on the Relion readings from this point on I guess.
Here's what the Libre 2 has been showing over the past few hours. I apologize if my syntax is incorrect regarding tests in between hours:
AMPS 195
+1 146
+1.5 (1h30m) 107
+2 106
+2.5 95
+3 69
+3.5 100 (Ate 1 oz Glycobalance wet)
+4 60
(4h 10m post injection, measured w/ Relion and Libre. Relion- 109 vs Libre- 61
)
Is the Freestyle Libre 2 known to act like this right before it expires? The alarm gave me a heart attack and I am glad I checked the Relion but I am prepared to act.
I tried to call/text vet but it's a holiday. Please help me cat lovers- how should I dose Tommy tonight? I give him insulin at midnight. This is our first scare and I'm worried about giving him meds without being able to monitor him constantly overnight.
I will update this thread every so often to track his progress. THANK YOU all!
