@sandysh66
Sandy I'm coping this from what you said this morning on yesterday's thread about last night's cycle (2-15) OK

. I am home today..I’ve gotten about 45 minutes of sleep. I fed Snuggles PMPS..2Tbsp, +2..1 Tbsp, +3.5..1Tbsp. And then hourly I fed her from +4-+9..between 1-2tsp because I was afraid her BS would drop and there wasn’t much change in results. I really pushed the food and as the night went on she really didn’t seem hungry. We are both exhausted

Hi ladies Suzanne and I have been helping Sandy out with Snuggles
She's new to this yet
I just wanted to tag other members in case Suzanne isn't around and Sandy needs help with dosing or how many carbs to feed. As you know I'm not experienced to give advice , so I just wanted to tag a few other members so they can get to know Sandy and Snuggles
Last night she was feeding all LC ,testing and feeding every hour , Snuggles BG didn't move that much and Sandy is exhausted this morning , me too low.
I was wondering at any point in the cycle should she feed MC so she's not up so late at night
Or if she gets a lower pre shot than she's used to should she feed some MC @ +1
Can you take a look at her SS
Thanks ladies
This was her intro post

Edit
Or feed her a little med carb at +4 or +5 durning the PM cycle to slow the drop down so she doesn't have to stay up this late.

You're doing great! Keep doing what we've been doing for these past several days. You've got this and you know what to do. Keep feeding her in the little amounts just like you've been doing. She's going to be okay! I now it. With you monitoring her she will be fine. I think this afternoon after her typical nadir of +6 / +7 you need a nap!!! If you don't get any sleep you will start to make mistakes.

Her drops have really been very slow and steady with no dramatic drops (like last night) ... of course, the LC snacks have been given. I suggested a timed feeder but we would need to make sure Snuggles would eat out of it -- and I seem to recall she would not... but I would keep trying!

Great you're here lol
Last night we were up so late, do you think at any point in the cycle she could feed MC so she's not up so late like last night.
Right now Snuggles isn't hungry @+2 she's probably stuffed from last night

Gotta go, ladies. Will pop in on my phone a bit during the day but am driving most of the day and taking cat to specialist. "see y'all later." You know what to do, Sandy! And there are people here for moral support! Diane is a sweetheart and can help you get a hold of anyone if you need it... but I don't think you're gonna need it. You need sleep at this point.

I have the feeder but it’s a no go…and I think she sleeps so soundly that she doesn’t realize it’s open..she likes her beauty sleep I guess over eating! @Suzanne & Darcy @Diane Tyler's Mom

It looks like she didn't need to be fed every single hour last night. Perhaps it could be spread out a little more. Let's see how it goes. Sandy definitely can't go on getting 45 minutes of sleep, but I know a lot of people who won't go to sleep even if you tell them it's okay... even if you tell them to give MC and go to bed... they won't (I understand that worry.) Once you know their patterns, and can look at their spreadsheet and see what they do... you gain confidence to go to bed. TTYL

Okey Dokey thanks Suzanne Talk later :bighug::bighug::cat:

So if Snuggles is flat does that mean her BS came up and it will stay up and not drop? Sorry, just trying to understand. Also, with that cycle when should I have fed her? And how much each time? @tiffmaxee

Well someone mentioned that she shouldn’t get below 90 so that’s why I was feeding so much so it wouldn’t drop below 90 since she’s SLGS… @tiffmaxee

@tiffmaxee I see you said this on yesterday's post
Last night’s cycle was beautiful. You don’t want to bring his bg up when he’s surfing blue. Remember normal is 50-100. Your goal is for him to be there as much as possible. That is healing time for his pancreas. I would not feed mc in a cycle like that. Lantus works best when keeping them flat blue and green. You could have gone to bed and set an alarm for +6-7. You could also have stopped when he was at 119 as he was flat.

Thanks so much Elise , we are exhausted lol
You would think I would know this by now ! That's why I listen to all of you.
Sandy had off this whole week so at least she could see how she did on the increase
When she's at work she can get the last test in around +3 or +3.5 before leaving in the morning
Snuggles will not eat out of the auto feeder yet and if her husband is home will not eat for him. He puts the food down and she hisses and growls at him, that's why Sandy is so nervous when she's at work

I totally agree with what Elise said. That’s why I have not advised feeding MC in flat blues. It’s just not necessary.

And unless you see dropping tonight I would not stay up. If you want to sleep and catch the nadir at about +6.5 then set an alarm and test and go back to sleep (feed a snack of LC if she’s in the blue). I would test at +2.

I hope you’re all right, Sandy. I woke up this morning at about 4 a.m. and thought…. I hope Sandy got some sleep last night.

I don’t see any tests on your spreadsheet for last night, I just hope it was because you didn’t get a chance to fill in any tests. Hopefully you got the “before bed” test and she was in flat numbers and you went to sleep? I have been a little worried about you.

When you start a new thread this morning, would you please tag me on it so I will be able to find it more easily?
