2/10, Sam, AMPS 187, +3 81, +5 77

I'll update it. He is not tolerating the reduction; he was just 275. Probably something else wrong that's killing him then. If that is the case then it doesn't matter if I bring him back up to half a unit. I'm not going to have him dying again. Should've never reduced his dose from 3/4, should've kept him one 1 unit honestly. I'm just going to sort this out myself.

It's updated. He's back on half a unit, and within a few days I'll bring him back up to 3/4 of a unit if things don't improve. I'm done with this crap.

Only other thing that's possible would be the insulin. I got it in October. So about 4 months old at this point.

And sorry if I come across as angry. I went from not worrying about him for a couple weeks to now being terrified.

No apologies necessary. We understand the frustration of high numbers and the toll that caring for a sugarcat takes on their parents. He earned reductions from 1u and 0.75U by dropping below 50, so it's good you took them. Especially when you cannot monitor closely, safety first. :-)

Are you okay with the increase to 0.5? I gave him 0.5 tonight because I can't watch him be that high again. If need be we can go back up to 0.75, though I'll need to make sure I measure correctly... Idk.

Will this hurt him being this high again? He's perfectly fine behaviorally.

Failing a reduction doesn't mean there's something medically wrong with him. It happens all the time here. All it means is that the fragile healing pancreas got a little tired and needs a little more insulin support until it gets back on track again. As an example, here is the spreadsheet of Lucy, her caregiver Libby was one of the very experienced members on here when I started. Lucy got up to 4.25 units before turning it around and got all the way down to 0.75 units before she stalled out. Libby had to take her back up to 4.25 units before she started down the second time. This second time it stuck and she ended up OTJ.

I'm glad you only went up to 0.5 units. The TR protocol is aggressive, but safe if followed as written. A few hours of higher numbers will not hurt him.
