2-10 Leo PMPS 247 +1.5=230 +2.75=129 +3.75=88

Give him some more 20%

+4.1=59
The added 20% (though he didn't eat the entire tsp of 20% before he stopoed and I found Andy eating it)... guess Leo ate as much as needed since he just had a tsp of 15% and a little LC. His last BG is 59.

It's been 22 days since last dose change, which was a decrease; plus using higher carb food to keep him above 50. Does the 3 drop rule apply in this case, and since the under 50 today would warrant the .25U decrease?

So I tried to look at Leo's ss it wouldn't let me. It is a decrease if he has dropped 3 separate times below 50.

I fixed the SS! Sorry about that. GS drives me crazy. If it were early on after the dose decrease or even more days after that, the 3 drops rule makes sense, but it's now 22 days, plus all the reliance on higher carb food. Wouldn't pushing to use more insulin defeat the purposes of reducing the need? How much of the 3 dose rule has been followed? Just curious... it is time right now to test-feed-shoot, so hanging on to know for sure. Thanks!

Ok so I only see 2 drops on 2 different days below 50 since the dose change so this does not follow the 3 drop rule. I get the frustration I really do! I would give current dose give him 15 or 20% at +1. You have to slow the huge drops big time. It's what is causing him to bounce back up so very high.

I would also add to that if he still continues the swan dive you could always try a reduction. LM never handles reductions well either it usually takes us a couple tries before he gets it hang tough

+1.5=230; after PM shot, Leo was not eating well despite adding a sprinkle of what usually encourages him to eat when he balks--dessicated liver powder, then a li'l hot water, and even nutritional yeast; still not eating much, so added a few Dr Elseys Chicken 'kibble,' so he finally ate a little. Worried he still didn't eat enough, I ended up giving him tsp of 15% near dinner time and then 20% at +1. Then I tested 30 min too soon at +1.5.

Maybe he's just full from all that food in the AM cycle? Or he's holding out for the good stuff! :)

I've noticed since we started the 10% at +1 that he acts a bit uninterested in eating the LC. He KNOWS the other exists! :cat:

Uh-oh.... now I wonder..... did I give 15% both times when I thought it was 15%& then 20%?
100 point drop from +1.5 to +2.75.

It takes 2 hours for the carbs to wear off. Get another test before bed? +3.5 or +4?

I think our replies are nearly simultaneous. I was editing the +1 reply to add what I remembered about the 15% & 20%, and then you replied. I don't think you saw the +3.75 at 88 yet.

Here's the edit to the +1 reply above:

I DO remember it was 20% with the 'dinner,' because he was balking at eating..... and then 15% at +1.

Now he's playing with one of his mouse toys! Rubbing his head on it and being adorable. Now Andy is interested, too, and walking away already. Cats.
But Leo is still interested. Leo goes after Leo and Andy checks out the toy. Now Leo & Andy are play fighting. Cute

Maybe you want to take that reduction tomorrow. Will he eat some 10% now? Still dropping...

The two were playing and thundered upstairs, and just as I was about to rattle the Dr Elseys 'treats' to get Leo downstairs, I found Leo had already creeped downstairs and was staring at me. Gave him 1 tsp 10%. Is this enough?

ETA: Do you think the decrease is warranted? Maybe?

He is clearly a professional diver LOL. That why I mentioned above that you could try a reduction even though it's not warranted by the rules. And yes you can always go right back up. We've done it here too and ended up going back up.
