2/6 Chispa, 189 +11, 74 +3, 56 +4.5, 60 +5.25, 139 PMPS, 129 +2

It could just be from the pain and inflammation after the dental. Just follow the numbers and adjust the dose accordingly :bighug:
For Bandit it took nearly 2 weeks for her to recover. Even though she had no extractions, her gums were sore and she was off food for a bit.

This is really embarrassing, but here goes ....

I am about to start the second cartridge of my first 5-pack of Lantus cartridges, having started FD life like many newbies, with a vial from CVS. I bought one of those rubber vial covers that prevents it from breaking if dropped and decided it would be a good idea to keep using it with the cartridge, held in place with a rubber band. Well, just now as I was drawing up Chispa's shot, I noticed ... there was no insulin in the vial. Yup. It's possible that I have been "shooting blanks" for the last couple of days. If true, it would explain her ever-increasing numbers.

I feel like a complete idiot.

That being the case, how should I now proceed with her shots? Should I go back to 3.5, or stay at 3.75, or something else?

Help, please!

Hi Bhooma -- our notes crossed in cyberspace. Thanks for your reassurance. Could you please give the above a quick look and let me know how to proceed?

MANY THANKS !!
@Bandit's Mom

ETA: If you are wondering about the connection between the vial cover and this current predicament, it's that the vial cover conceals the "business end" of the vial -- therefore unable to see out of insulin. :banghead:

OK, will do. Again, huge thanks!!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Nice +3 yay, don't feel like an idiot, one time Tyler's numbers were increasing , I was using the Lantus pens and decided to squezze some insulin out if it , it was empty. This was probably going on for about 5 days. Even with the new pen I still couldn't see if there was insulin in it. Used the new pen and he was back to lower numbers
Did you get a AMPS this morning the cell is not filled in
Have a nice day Karen , I hope Chispa is feeling better :bighug::cat:

Diane, thanks for making me laugh out loud. Five days!! Ok, now I don’t feel so bad. :p
Chispa was hungry and meowing at me an hour before her shot time this morning, so I went for a +11 instead of an AMPS to get a true reading before she ate. She’s definitely feeling better … DBF said she was quiet when not feeling well, but now she is back to complaining. So that’s a good sign, along with the +3!
Thanks so much for checking in. Happy Monday from Chispa and me! :bighug::cat::bighug:

When this happened I looked at Tyler and said Oh Tyler I'm so sorry lol
Good to hear she's complaining :p
I understand about the +11 thanks for explaining it to me . Have a nice day Karen :bighug:

Not Bhooma, but reduction criteria is under 50. You don't know how long she got "umm, fur shots?".:p Might want put a note on the SS.
Yes, good idea about the note on the SS -- done.
I only thought about going back to 3.5 because she was doing so well on it before the dental. But looking at the SS, I guess there is still room for improvement. Thanks, Wendy :bighug:
