I was reading your post from yesterday. I adopted a kitty from the shelter who was semi feral, he'd been there for 7 years, with a couple time outs for failed adoptions. He only liked females and only about 5 of us who were volunteers or who worked there. I had to get a female vet too. Anyway, over time he got very comfortable with my DH, but not sure it would have been enough for ear poking. Thank goodness his meds were just in pill pockets. To me, he was the most affectionate cat I've ever had.

Today is day 9 of 1 unit. When following SLGS, you can increase after 7 days, and it looks like Snuggles needs a bit more insulin. You want nadirs to be in the 90-149 range, and when she sees blues, they're only high blues.

So..even though today is day 1 of all LC food I should increase insulin or could I wait a few days to see how all LC food is going to affect the BS numbers? My worry is when I work I’m afraid the numbers are going to drop and she won’t take food or treats from hubby…it’s a major worry for me and anxiety kicks in. If I’m here a few days I’m ok with increase but unfortunately I work Monday through Thursday. @Wendy&Neko @Diane Tyler's Mom @Bron and Sheba (GA)

Approximately 29%…Snuggles was eating prescription Hills c/d wet food and also dry food..but last day of dry food was Friday 1/27/23. I was transitioning over kinda slow . She has a history x2 of crystals in urine per previous vet when my Snuggles was with my mom. I’ve also been working on auto feeder with her but it’s a no go if I’m not here. @Wendy&Neko @Diane Tyler's Mom @Bron and Sheba (GA)

Sandy did you make a mistake I thought you said it was the HC Wet she was still on not the dry, that today you didn't feed any HC wet?

Diane - she said in post #7 that dry food has been gone for over a week now. It should be out of her system now.

I meant to ask, not the carbs in the CD, but what percent of the food eaten is the HC (ie. half or quarter of her total food).

Is Snuggles normally a grazer or does she eat all at once? That is, with you there.

Oops sorry misunderstood..her HC wet food was about 75% of her food. Last week when I worked I also gave snack before I left about 2 tsp of HC wet d/t anxiety of leaving her and not eating when I’m not here. I was also giving HC food 50% of snacks second cycle. @Wendy&Neko @Bron and Sheba (GA) @Diane Tyler's Mom
 
So, the last couple days before today she was getting what portion of HC in the AM and 50% in the PM?

Wednesday 100% HC breakfast…then am snack 50% HC before I went to work…supper 50% HC …overnight 50% HC (3 snacks).
Thursday 75% HC with meals..overnight 50% HC (3 snacks).
Friday 75% HC with breakfast…then started 100% LC last night with supper meal
On Tuesday and Wednesday the AMPS BG was under 200..I was anxious worrying she would drop lower when I was at work and she won’t eat when I’m not here so that made anxiety 10 times worse when I can’t be here to monitor BS.

It can take a couple days of just LC to see where her numbers land with that food. So you should know by end of weekend, and can decide then if you need to increase.

You can probably stop the testing until PMPS now.
