No problem :cat:
I'll try to explain about how to link your previous days posts
Your previous days posts are all the way up top, above that picture of that cat on the left hand side , it's in that long line . So when you do your post for tomorrow you will copy and paste what is above in that long line that's above the pic of that cat
I'll check tomorrow anyway

Is everything ok for today? Do you mean the link is on this page? And you’re talking about the cat picture that says feline diabetes next to it? I see no long line… @Diane Tyler's Mom

How often is she going now?
Have you seen her straining to poop at all?
Is the poop really hard , are they good bowl movement
I'm glad she likes the beef and chicken pro plan

She went Friday..but usually it’s every day. No straining. Usually good size bowel movements. The poop hasn’t been hard. She’s in no distress and I don’t see any discomfort. I was just curious if the food may play a part. She was eating about 1/2 cup of HC dry food every 24 hours. She’s been on just wet food for about 36 hours. @Diane Tyler's Mom

Sandy if you have stopped all the dry food completely take it out of your signature
BTW what does the HC stand for a n your signature when you are referring to the food

OK to take it out of your signature tap on your name all the way up top, then tap on the word signature and get rid of that, then tap save

HC is high carb…Meow Mix is what she ate..about 1/2 cup every 24 hours. All wet food last 36 hours or so. @Diane Tyler's Mom

I really don't think the food has anything to do with it, I'm talking about the pro plan.
As long as it's not hard , she's not straining, not in any discomfort I wouldn't worry. Just keep track if it

Duh What the heck is wrong with me ,I know that lol
Now I forgot what is the HC wet you are still feeding is it the urinary care? What flavor
What does it exactly say on the can
It’s ProPlan Urinary beef & chicken…that’s the flavor now but I bought a few different flavors so she doesn’t get tired of one. I will give a little LC FF wet off and on for snacks…2 tsp.
The bowel movements threw me off cause usually every day they are huge and today being day 2 so far…it’s early..of no bowel movement just had me thinking..probably overthinking! @Diane Tyler's Mom

Good morning. I’ve noticed Snuggles isn’t having a bowel movement every day. I clean her litter boxes every day and I’ve noticed the change. I no longer give her the HC dry food. Snuggles gets HC Hills C/D wet and LC wet food. Thoughts? Should I be concerned? @Hendrick Cuddleclaw @Bron and Sheba (GA) @Diane Tyler's Mom @Sienne and Gabby (GA)

all I can tell you is that we have a cat who only has a BM every other day or so. The others all seem to go about once per day. This particular cat used to have a BM more frequently when we fed dry food but after we eliminated the kibble completely, less frequent. She is perfectly healthy and recently got a clean bill of health from the vet as well.

on a side note....our cats' BMs smell far less awful than they used to with the dry food. Canned/Raw seems to produce much less stinky poops. What a fantastic side-benefit!!!

It's quite likely the switch to a low carb, canned food diet because it has less filler (aka junk), your cat doesn't need to poop on a daily basis. A low carb canned food diet is more species appropriate and your cat is metabolizing most of what she's eating. My cats poop roughly every other day.
Thank you..I’m so over cautious since the diabetes diagnosis! @Sienne and Gabby (GA)

I'd encourage you to keep notes in the Comments section of your spreadsheet. It will let you see patterns. Being a good observer is truly important since cats are so good at hiding if there's anything that's "off" medically. Changes in basic behaviors -- peeing, pooping, playing, eating, etc. are worth keeping track of.

I know you are feeding the pro plan and some FF , what I'm asking is what is it that you are feeding per your signature you have HC wet there , what's that?

Ok! I can do that! I have a notebook at home that I’m also keeping notes in. I have seen she’s not drinking as much as she had been and less peeing since she’s been on insulin. @Sienne and Gabby (GA) @Diane Tyler's Mom

I’m so nervous about leaving Snuggles tomorrow and going back to work. I think that’s another reason I’m hesitant to transition to all LC wet food fearing her blood sugars will drop too low. @Diane Tyler's Mom
I know you must be nervous,do you have the automatic feeder ?
Weren't you going the set it to open at +3 and +5 ?

Edit. Correction Open at 11 AM and 3 PM

Yes I have the automatic feeder but I feel two teaspoons of LC wet food isn’t going to help bring blood sugars up. Thoughts? @Diane Tyler's Mom
Give him more than that , I would give her like 4 tablespoons or a little more and add a little bit of water. You got the 2 slot one right?
What are your shot times again, I think you said you're out the door at 9 and get home around 6 PM
@sandysh66

I just looked back at your posts you said you were going to set the feeder to open at 11 AM and 3 PM is that correct?

And I asked you if you if you can get up at 7 AM and test , feed then give insulin
Withhold food starting at 5 AM
Is this the plan?

At night no food after 5 PM if you are going to test at 7 PM

If you only got the 2 slot auto feeder what you can do is leave her some food out in a did before you walk out the door , set the timer to open at 11 AM , then 3 PM
If you can get another test in right before you walk out the door

How does this sound

Yes that’s the plan..and everything you have here is correct. I will test right before 9am. Give 4 teaspoons or Tablespoons? Shot times are 7am and 7pm. Any other advice? @Diane Tyler's Mom

Sandy -

Consider a couple of things. You can experiment with a lower carb diet when you're home to monitor, like during the PM cycle. If you are working throughout the week, take a small amount of the higher carb food out of Snuggles diet and substitute the lower carb food. You can make the first substitution with the first meal of the day and leave Snuggles usual food in the feeder.

If there are days when you're at home, you can work on transitioning on the days when you have more opportunity to monitor Snuggles BG levels.

Even when cats are on a low carb diet, everyone is always a bit nervous with a dose increase. You'll have a better sense of Snuggle's cycles once she's been on insulin longer.

So, her first meal reduce the HC food, then leave two snacks in the feeder..make both of the the mix of HC and LC food that I normally would give for main meals? How many teaspoons should I leave if she gets two snacks while I’m at work? I’m going to work on more of the food transition this Friday and weekend since I’m off three days and can test more. @Sienne and Gabby (GA)

OK so you are going to test her at 7 AM right, ? Then get another year in before you leave right?
Since you only got the 2 slot feeder leave her about 2 tablespoons out in a dish when you leave at 9 AM .

Just in case you didn't get the tag Sienne :cat:

What I think Sienne is trying to say that while you're working do what your u have been doing HC wet/ LC wet . Then at night you can leave night lc wet and a smaller amount of HC.
Then you're home in the weekends you you can try just giving LC only and see how she does
