I'm finding the UK fb diabetes group quite traumatic! They seem incredibly kind and lovely. But loads are giving their cats kibble, (I think that is what made Marley diabetic in the first place). And they are doing BG's on the paws, that feels so cruel to me, and like their feet could get infected. And lots of cats seem to have died since I joined yesterday!! And no one is near enough to me for sitting sadly!
 
Could they give you any ideas for websites where you can find sitters?

Some people do use paw pads rather than the ears for testing. It's supposed to be okay. :-)

I have looked in loads of cat sitting websites but none so far cover my area. I am in the countryside!

The last diabetic cat forum I was in was majorly against it, they said that the feet were really sensitive and painful for the and because they were always touching the ground it became breeding ground for bacterial infections. I dont know. I guess they formed my thoughts about it (and fears). Makes sense to me but I have no real idea.
 
Oxfordshire - more specifically a little village called Hook Norton.

I may have found a cat sitter. She's never injected a cat before but thinks she can learn quickly! I haven't had a chance to write back to her yet but I will soon!

So you think I shouldn't go down a dose?

Tomorrow I have to be out from+3 to +5.5

Bit nervous about that at the same dose.......

Did he get some high carb food at +2.3? That may have prevented the drop to the 40s subsequently. You want to feed carbs and prevent a drop below 50. That way you can avoid a reduction and keep them on a good dose as long as possible.

I would try the 3 drops rule for earning reductions. Get a +2 and +3 and feed high carbs if necessary. That will keep him safe for the 2.5 hours that you are gone. Let's see the AMPS.
 
My internet has gone down so I can only reply on my phone e I can’t do the spread sheet. I’m going to stick with this thread too until I can sort it on my computer. Is that ok?

mtge plus 2 will be in approx 1 hour 20 mins from now and the +3 2 hours 20 mins.
Nightmare without the Internet!

I struggle with this HC between 40-50 as that is the big where his pancreas has most chance of healing so I just gave his normal food and was right by his side the whole time. Luckily he didn’t go below 40 so we can stay at the dose you suggest.

I will get the +2 and 3 as you say and leave HC if nec while I’m not here. Thanks so much
