Update again: Decided to shoot at 130 with the decreased dose of .25. I'll be here to monitor him.
------
Update: I am still stalling for Bear's AMPS. Should I go ahead and shoot? He was going up and now he went back down a bit.

---------------
(From earlier this morning)

Hi everyone,

Bear just tested at 47 ten or so min ago. Gave some MC with some syrup. Normally I wouldn't worry but he also threw up and pottied outside the litterbox (sometimes he potties outside the box but I've never seen him vomit). He seems to be a little slow, but otherwise okay (was able to run away from me lol). Should I be concerned? I'll test again in 10. Thank you!

He will most probably bounce from the lime of last night. Sometimes numbers drop further when stalling making it more difficult to decide to shoot.

If you can monitor, feed and shoot. With a history of DKA, a skip is not an option.
Thanks. We were going to run out in the next thirty minutes or so to meet a friend, so I don't want to shoot if we are not going to be here. But I also can't leave until we are able to shoot I guess. lol. Thanks Bear!

I know it's crazy, how late did you stall before you gave him his insulin
The past two nights I was late at giving his dose. I usually shoot at 7:15PM but shot at 9:00 the previous night and 9:15 last night. I was working back 30 minutes from those times for my AMPS. so this morning I was going to shoot at 8:45 but he was too low. I ended up stalling until 11:15.

Stalling or Shooting Late
If you've been managing FD for very long, you've likely had to shoot late for your own schedule or stall a shot to allow the BG to come up to a safe number to shoot. We generally try not to stall more than two hours but that is merely because it takes longer to get back on schedule. However, stalling longer is possible if your schedule accommodates slowly working back to your original shot time. If you have to stall, we will ask you how long you can stall and have it not impact your normal schedule.

In this example, we will assume a 7/7 shot time and that the caregiver had to stall two hours (until 9) waiting for kitty's BG come up to a safe number to shoot. There are three options for getting back on your 7/7 schedule:

Option A: starting the very next cycle, shoot 15 minutes early every cycle until back on your original shot time.
Cycle 1 is the cycle you shoot at 9
Cycle 2 shoot at 8:45
Cycle 3 shoot at 8:30
Cycle 4 shoot at 8:15
Cycle 5 shoot at 8:00
Cycle 6 shoot at 7:45
Cycle 7 shoot at 7:30
Cycle 8 shoot at 7:15
Cycle 9 shoot at 7:00

Option B: shoot 30 mins early once a day until back on your original shot time.
Cycle 1 is the cycle you shoot at 9
Cycle 2 shoot at 9
Cycle 3 shoot at 8:30
Cycle 4 shoot at 8:30
Cycle 5 shoot at 8:00
Cycle 6 shoot at 8:00
Cycle 7 shoot at 7:30
Cycle 8 shoot at 7:30
Cycle 9 shoot at 7:00

And of course he’s going low again. Oh Bear.

Hi Meredith
Just looked at your SS I'm confused
I don't understand what you have in your PMPS cell
What did you have to stall again?
If you did you always leave the BG number you get when you stall and then right underneath it in the same cell or block the number you shot at then how many hours
What does .25 @ +3.275 mean in Unit cell?

Morning! I was trying to say that I shot at 11PM. I’m not sure the best way to indicate that if my timing is messed up.

So you shot 3 hours and 45 minutes late? If so just leave it that way, I'm totally confused now because of all the stalling you have had to do :p
I hope you can get back in track soon :cat:

With TR you can shoot any number over 50 on a human meter if you can monitor.

From me lol
I hate that you have to keep stalling and trying to get backn on track
Would you feel comfortable shooting lower blues since you do take him to work with you?
If you do shoot the lower blues you really need to monitor Bear closely since he's been dropping so low., have all your supplies and med and high carb food with you

It sucks that you have to keep stalling for hours

Hi Bhooma I saw you were helping Meredith above I have a question since Meredith has had to stall a lot and try to get back on track , had to stall again last night. I know you can shoot any number over 50 when following TR and can monitor closely, have all your supp!ies and med and high carb food and honey available , Do you think it would be a good idea if Meredith feels comfortable shooting the low blues and not having to stall for hours and try to get back on track. I'm just curious
Thanks Bhooma :bighug::cat:

I'm confused too. Lol. We are moving closer to the original time, just a few more days haha. I remember Bhooma saying you can shoot at 50... I just get really nervous to do so. But I think I really did stall too much this time. I just wasn't sure if I would be able to monitor. Curious to see what @Bandit's Mom says!

I'm glad you're getting closer to his original shot time. I know the first time is scary when you shoot a lower number than you're used to.
Probably best to do it on a weekend when you're home if you choose to.
Let's see what Bhooma thinks. He's doing very well though :cat:
Nice cycle so far
