Hi all, Milos curve was done on January 9th his nadir was 76 so i reduced his Lantus from 2.75 Units
to 2.5 Units at PMPS~(,on January 9th.)~**Milo's reduction point is at 80**
Today~ January 10th ~ he was reading even lower @+4 was 67 and 65..(did 2 readings on the same drop of blood)
Question: Should i do another reduction to 2.25 Units at PMPS or maintain the dose at 2.5 Units
for another 7-10 days?
Thank's.

We usually don't recommend back-to-back reductions because they almost always fail and you just have to go back up so I'd stick with the 2.5

I'd also suggest you get back into the habit of testing on the PM cycle too (at least a "before bed" test...usually +2 or +3). Without tests on the PM cycle, you're missing half of the data on what's going on with Milo.

Are you feeding any dry food? I ask because you are following SLGS and so another reduction would be earned. If not feeding dry maybe lower your reduction number.

Hi,no i am only feeding low cal FF pate and the only "dry" Milo gets is Chicken purebites a treat.

Hi Chris, thanks for responding.I am currently testing Milo's AMPS and PMPS at 12:00 /Noon and 12:00 PM/Midnight /. Sometimes i will set the alarm to test later but have not been diligent as of late. It's sound advice for sure as i think he sleeps sometimes even if he has a low BG. There is always food out for him and i set the alarm to remove food 2 hrs prior to AMPS. He is getting older (13 soon) so sleeps a lot more!

If you are following SLGS as per your signature, you would take the reduction again. Since you shot the old dose tonight, you can reduce tomorrow morning. The concept of "back to back reductions" is only for those following TR.
