Hello there! Henry’s AMPS is 141 which is the lowest AMPS he’s had since he was diagnosed last October. I can stall and retest. If the sugar is again around this number I’m 20-30 minutes, do I shoot? He is currently on a drop dose. Do I keep it as drop dose? Thank you!

I agree with Bhooma. I think you would be fine to shoot if you can monitor.
Kay, have you thought about swapping to TR dosing protocol? You are testing enough and it will give you more leeway with the reduction BG at 50.
Henry isn’t ready to go off insulin yet.
I’m just heading to bed but you are in great hands with Bhooma! :)

Hi Bron! Hope you’re well. I was actually reading about TR over the weekend. I think between my husband and myself we should be able to continue testing during the day with work. Appreciate your checking in! Have a nice evening! Thank you

It’s been 11 days since Henry started Lantus and his sugar seems to be doing so much better. So thankful for this forum. :bighug: Two months ago I could never imagine Henry being his “diva” self again or that he would be walking on his toes again. The twinkle in his eyes is back and he is purring again. I am grateful for each moment more we get to spend with him. I know the journey is not over and Henry is not young by any means (don’t tell him!) but I will enjoy every second that he is here and happy…thank you!

Way to go Henry!!!!! A wonderful transformation in short time. :cat: I'm with you about this most amazing forum and all the kitty gurus that contribute:bighug::bighug:.
Having the sparkle back in their eyes is truly reassuring, (the window to their soul?) and was the best thing I thought I could ask for, until the day he got the zoomies once again for the first time. I sure cried tears of joy that day, just having my old boy back again. So happy the switch to Lantus seems to have made a nice difference, all those lovely blues and greens!
Keep it up Henry! ;);) And mum and dad of course:bighug:

Thank you so much! A nice zoomie from Henry would just be icing on the cake. And yes so happy our new vet agreed to the Lantus; Henry appears to be doing so much better. He started walking on his back toes again soon after starting Lantus. He also started jumping onto the bed and couch again. Maybe zoomies are on the horizon. :bighug:
