I increased Panzer to 3units, I was hoping to never have to get that high of dose again. I'm hoping his #s are just higher due to him having a UTI. I was finally able to get a hold of the vet today, they were closed on Monday & he's not in on Tuesday & Thursday. I explained that Panzer had been on 75mg doxycycline hyclate 1x per day for his previous UTI & that 200mg per day was making him puke. I told him that I've been doing 50mgs twice a day since Sunday & he has been fine. He wants me to stick with that & finish the bottle. He will be on it for a little longer than 2wks but he's getting his probiotic daily 2-3hrs after his morning dose of doxycycline so hopefully that's working it's magic.

My house for today canceled this morning, so I lost $100 today. Sometimes I wish I could find another job, but this job works for taking care of my boys & the $ is good unless someone cancels. That's part of the job though. I'm very thankful for the one's who still pay me when they cancel. I guess some of them don't care that, that is $ lost that I depend on to pay my bills & get everything I need for the boys & myself. I asked DCIN back on December 2nd when I had my surgery & Panzer ate the advil about sending me some test strips, I haven't heard back from them so I guess I will ask again. Thankfully someone on here sent me 200 test strips & a friend of mine bought a 100 count box for me. I am down to 1 100 count box & maybe 30 out of a bottle of 50. I really don't want to test less than I do now, but I may not have a choice.

I also got a phone call today from the OBGYN doctor saying that my hysterectomy was approved & she was going to call the surgery center to schedule me for February 3rd, not sure if it will be morning or afternoon yet, I will know when I get the info from the surgery center. Originally my insurance denied Myfembree which is specifically for my issues with still bleeding & has less risk of blood clotting like birth control pills. My surgeon had a long talk with my insurance company & got them to approve it. I started on it on Monday & it's helping already.
 
Glad your insurance got their crap together! That’s good news.

As for Panzer; it doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s higher than normal. Stress and pain release adrenaline and cortisol. Both REDUCE insulin sensitivity, cortisol has a longer term impact on it. So prolonged pain/stress will increase how much insulin he needs in the short term. Once the stress is removed his sensitivity to insulin should to back up.

So try not to stress too much about it. How’s he doing though? Still yowling when urinating?

No more yowling in the litter box but he was walking around the house earlier meowing. I don't know if he's hungrier because his numbers are so high or what.
 
I had another cancelation today. I was scheduled to work 4 days this week & only got to work 2 days:banghead: the flu & covid are going around here very bad! I don't do extra vaccines just for that reason. I had a flu shot about 10yrs ago & ended up with the flu 2 days later. I won't even go into the whole covid vaccine!

On a good note Panzer was @100@+7 AMPS :cool:
 
I do not understand what is going on with Panzer's cycles he had those low blues at mid to end of the AMPS cycle then a blue PMPS & now we are back in the yellow? I can look at other kitty's spreadsheets & kinda tell what's going on but I don't understand my own boys numbers :banghead:

I’m glad you did increase because you don’t want him getting too comfy in those higher numbers. I think he will come back down when his infection is fully cleared up.

I'm worried he's been on the doxycycline for 11 days now & he's doing the pain meow again in the litter box & going back & forth between litter boxes. He's got 7 more days on the antibiotic. Should I call the vet & ask them to call in the doxycycline hyclate 75mg that he was on before? I feel like what they gave me isn't working. Who knows how long they have those pills in the office. He's taking 100mg a day right now. I'm going to test him for ketones next time he pees just to be safe. He's been drinking water I've seen him a couple of times & water on the floor means he's stirring it with his paw before he drinks. I'm glad he's drinking his body must be telling him that he needs it.

When I was giving Panzer his pill pockets at PMPS Spook tapped me on the hand like he was wanting one LOL I told him he will get one in the morning, cat's are so smart :cat:
 
It sounds like they should have sent the urine for culture again :( because- as you already know- he shouldn’t be crying out in pain in the litter box at this point (after 11 days.)

I'm not even sure if they do this at my vet now, they are on the holistic side. I will call tomorrow & ask but I don't know how I would be able to pay it. Due to all of the cancelations from work I'm behind on bills. Tomorrow I will make enough to pay my gas bill, then Thursday I will be able to pay my car insurance both were due on Dec 28th. As long as the 2 houses I'm cleaning on Friday don't cancel, I will finally have a little bit of $. I will call tomorrow & see if they do that & how much. It would probably be best to take him in so they can get the urine directly from his bladder which probably means more $ ugh....
