Food help

I’m a long time member, not sure if this is where I should post… if not my apologies.
Chloe’s brother, George, has to eat special urinary health food due to having crystals earlier this year. He’s been on Royal Canin SO veterinary diet food for about 6 months and doing great however, all over a sudden it’s completely out of stock everywhere and he’s going to be out. I need to find an equivalent until it’s back in stock and my vet is currently closed for the holiday. Can anyone make a suggestion? I would greatly appreciate your help. I know you’ve been so helpful over the years! Thank you.

I know that Hills makes a vet diet similar to Royal Canine SO. I think it is their C/D formula. It has been years since I had a cat with crystals but I think that foods with a low phosphorus levels help reduce the chance of developing them. Look at the food list https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/links-to-food-charts.174182/ to see if there is anything he will eat until you can get more prescription food.

I am not sure where you are located but if you are in the US, you can get your vet to give you a written prescription you can get a card from PetSmart to be able to buy prescription food from them when your is closed.

dry … he won’t eat RC wet, so weird. He loves other wet… but he drinks a lot of water from a fountain.

Good idea on trying PetSmart written script. Duh, haha why didn’t I think of that?! Sometimes I am so silly.
