Decided to stick with 1.5 again today and see how her numbers look with an entire day of Libre data before we increase again. She's getting good numbers with 1.5 (when she's not bouncing) and I don't want to push her.

I am unsure whether I should input the Libre data from last night because the first 12 hours are possibly unreliable numbers. She got to around 350 overnight at her highest and she's come down since then so she may have bounced and now it's clearing.

The AMPS number today is from a manual test.

Is she getting more comfortable with manual testing?

Yes, especially when it's one poke and done. I still sometimes have to milk her ear a bit to get enough blood which annoys her but she seems to prefer that over trying to warm up her ear first.

The Libre is reading a little bit higher than the manual test. Her manual AMPS was 277 and the Libre read 309. I know that interstitial glucose readings lag behind blood glucose readings though so it's probably that her BG had been a bit higher and was coming down at that time.

Tessa doesn't seem very hungry today which is unlike her. She only ate her breakfast and didn't even bother with her sister's leftovers. Her sister's leftovers are in my office so maybe Tessa is just staying away from me today. Luckily her numbers aren't low so she doesn't have to eat if she doesn't want to.

I am considering increasing Tessa's dose to 1.75u tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about it after the last attempt at 1.75 ended with her at the vet (which was an overreaction but still) but she's been on 1.5u for over a week and we're still not getting any consistency. If we wake up to greens or low blues then I probably won't increase but otherwise I'm seriously considering it.

One other concern I have is that we're going to have a winter storm tomorrow evening so if anything goes wrong overnight tomorrow, getting to an ER vet might be a problem.

Maybe I should wait...she is getting blues and some greens when she's not bouncing so I am comfortable letting her hang out at 1.5u for awhile if need be. What do you all think?

The last 1.75U is ancient history in FD terms. A cats insulin needs do change and doses do get "stale". Likewise a dose which was good can become too high and a reduction earned. You adjust doses based on what the numbers tell you. She looks good for an increase to 1.75U to me. She is due to clear the bounce so she might just give you blues and green tomorrow morning, in which case you do not want to increase in that cycle but maybe the next.

Thank you! It looks like she's bouncing again because she's up to 400+ on the Libre. I checked manually because I was curious just how high her numbers were and she was at 390 on the ReliOn glucometer so she must not be much above 400 on the Libre.

I think I'll just play it by ear in the morning after looking at her graph from overnight. If it looks like she's clearing the bounce, I'll wait.
