Hi all :)

hope you are all well! I’m feeding my diabetic cat Lilli with wet wood only as dry food makes her BG rise a lot, while without it she’s perfectly healthy without insulin.

However, with dry food she doesn’t really chew. Do you think this is an issue for her teeth? Are there any kind of kibbles that I can give her to support her teeth without making her BG rise?

thanks to all!!❤️

It is a myth that dry food helps clean the teeth. The manufacturers say that to get people to buy the dry food.
Cats don’t chew the dry food, they just swollow it. If you have seen vomit from a cat that eats dry food, it is just the whole pieces.
If your kitty will eat a bone you could try feeding a chicken neck. That will help clean the teeth.
I clean my cats teeth with a tooth brush and cat toothpaste.
Or you could try wiling your cats teeth with a damp piece of cloth to wipe away the slime that gathers.
