12/16 Tessa AMPS 102 +1 99 +2 95 +3 98 +5 146 +7 133 PMPS 178

Not the first time a cat has reacted to the threat of a dose increase! :cat:

So funny!

Her numbers look so good today, she's at 95 at +2. :D

I let her have her sister's leftovers at +1 but I think I'm going to wait until +3 or +4 to feed her again unless her numbers start to drop quickly. I've been scanning her every 20-30 minutes.

Just checked at +3.5 and she's at 109. Such good numbers today!!!

I think I'm going to just not feed her until she starts to act hungry and see how long that takes. Right now she's snoozing in one of her favorite spots, on top of a pillow on a bench in the living room.

She was acting hungry (licking her empty bowl) so I went ahead and gave her some Tiki Cat (zero carbs) just before +6.

I thought for sure that feeding her would make her numbers go up but they actually came down a bit? Very interesting!

Her numbers have been so good today, I can hardly believe it! I am especially surprised that her numbers never really jumped after her mid-cycle meal. They were starting to climb but after she was fed, the numbers went down. I wonder if prolonged fasts have been contributing to her bounces? Or maybe we're just lucky/blessed today lol.

Cats with functioning pancreas see their blood sugar drop 3 hours after food because the pancreas produce insulin in response to food. In Tessa's case it is probably just meter variance which can be as much as 20%. I don't know of prolonged fasts contributing to bouncing. As her body gets used to lower numbers, the bounces will be more gradual (numbers won't shoot up but go up slowly), they will shallower and they will clear faster.

Thank you! As always, you are most helpful! :D I'm really happy with Tessa's numbers today and hoping that they can stay decently low overnight too. It's now been over 24 hours since she went over 300 and that's a huge win!
