Hello,

I’m considering making my own chicken cat food: any tips? I found a site where they instant pot chicken and then blend it and use/freeze. Anyone feed just home made food? Want to make sure they get enough nutrition etc . And how many oz per day should I feed? I’m a total noob so any tips or direction is much appreciated. Thanks!

It’s not necessary to blend the chicken into a pate to feed. I only cut mine up to smaller pieces. Are you going to feed cooked chicken or raw?
You don’t have to limit the food to chicken.
Definitely make sure you use a supplement to make it a complete meal nutritionally.
The link above that Virginie posted is good.

I got into making homemade cat food earlier this year. It is a great low-carb option for my sugar kitty, and for the others I am sure it is very beneficial to their health to have this be a part of their diet.

I use raw chicken breast, chicken thighs, and pork loin for my mix. I coarsely chop it with a food processor, take about half out, then puree the rest with a few tablespoons of water. Then I mix everything together with E-Z Complete to ensure the kitties get all the things their bodies need.

Another FDMBer cooks the meat and mixes it with E-Z Complete then freezes portions so they are ready to go.

Hello do you mix in supplements with the chunks of chicken? I think shredded would be way easier and faster but not sure if the supplements would mix well
