12/15 Tessa AMPS 225 +2 170 +4 286 +5 400+ PMPS 333

I probably shouldn't have fed her when her numbers were already going up. They went from 286 to 400+ in an hour. Whoops. The food was Friskies Turkey and Giblets pate which is 5% carbs, maybe next time I need to feed her during an increase I'll give Tiki Cat (zero carb) and see if that affects how fast the numbers increase.

Unless she somehow dips really low overnight, I'm planning to increase to 1.75u in the morning. I was hoping after that nice streak of blues on 1.25 that she would have good numbers on 1.5 but that did not happen so I think it's probably time to try 1.75 again. We've gotta get those numbers down.

Some of the zooming in numbers is a bounce. But yes, feeding carbs will add to it. So later in the cycle you want to feed less carbs since insulin action is on the wane.

Yes, please take her up to 1.75U. It might not be a good idea to increase in the morning. She seems to clear the bounce in the AM cycles. A cat's insulin needs can and do change. A dose that was good a few days back can "go stale" or can be too much. We have to follow the numbers and take the dose up or down accordingly.

Good to know! She's just gonna have to suck it up and eat the Tiki Cat food. She much prefers the Friskies (probably all the byproducts in it) but if I sit down Tiki Cat, she'll lick up the juice and then pick at it and walk away. Once she finally realizes she isn't getting anything else, she eventually goes back to it though.

Yeah, I'm pretty nervous about upping the dose in the morning but at night is much more difficult for me. I'm usually asleep by +3 (+4 at the absolute latest) and I'd be a nervous wreck trying to sleep not know how the new dose is going to affect her. Her nadirs are usually early but she's had some late ones too.

At least during the day I'm able to watch her like a hawk (I work from home) and track her numbers. I could scan her Libre every 30 minutes (or even more often) and if her numbers are diving, I can feed her to slow things down.
