I see he is up to 94 now. Thanks to the HC. Do you have flexibility to shoot late in your schedule?
Hi Bhooma, thanks so much. Yes, i use AlphaTrak, At 94, I decided, rightly I hope, to shoot 13u (reduction). i can monitor all day and can shoot late tonight.
Last night was the only night I did not do a +7 or +8. I've been so tired and keep falling asleep during the day when I need to be working so I thought because he was running high all day yesterday I just might sleep through the PM +7 or +8.

I should have known.

Thanks so much, Bhooma.

The 94 is carb influenced, so it's possible he might dive after the carbs wear off. Ideally you want to wait 2 hours after the last high carb meal to see where he is before taking a shooting decision. However, if he zooms up before then, it might be safe to shoot. Shall we see where he is at +13 which is 20 mins after the 94?

Yes, I'll check. I was swinging back and forth: shoot, don't shoot. If I shoot, then how much and so I just went back to the last time he went low and thought I'll take a reduction and monitor. Wow, this is an adrenaline-filled start to the day. I'm so glad it's Sunday and I don't have to leave for anything.

Congrats on the reduction. I hope it sticks.

Sometimes cats go high before they go low. That and post SRT means those night time tests are important too. How was Eddie acting this morning?

Eddie was totally asymptomatic. I may have mentioned before, when he goes low, he's not so grumpy about a test (i.e. he's quiet) and his eyes don't have a deep yellow aura, they just look normal kitty eyes. He was acting as usual, jumping from his cat tower to sit on the kitchen rug waiting for the test and his treat. I tested and was surprised and then he just waited the 10 mins for the next test. He was responsive and kind of mellow (not in a lethargic way but in an alert way).
His last SRT fraction was on October 27th and so we are now only six weeks post-SRT. I'm guessing there will be more activities to come. Hope the reduction holds.
