8 Dec 2022 - Whiskey AM=232 - no shot or monitoring today, vet visit

No shot this morning in case she needed an anesthetic.

OK, no infection the vet could find, but more teeth that need to come out, everything but the canines. That we'll do in Jan.

Otherwise she's in a lot of pain, looks like she's hurt her back. So she has pain killers and anti nausea meds as well as antibiotics for the infected teeth so we can get her into the best possible shape for the dental next month. Also Sub Q fluids and a Vit B jab.

Now to try to get her to eat.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone!

She wasn't doing better this afternoon, so I took her back.

She's staying overnight on a drip, they think pancreatitis now, earlier my vet felt it was more like an injury, but she didn't eat more than a teaspoon of her absolute favorite all day and was still in huge pain despite the painkiller injections.

Feeling for her so much. She was abandoned by her previous owner, and every time I leave her at the vet I'm sure she feels abandoned again :(

I hope Whiskey getting better soon. I feel you that leaving our fur babies in the hospital and worrying for them, but all we can do is trust the professionals who know better how to take care of sick animals. In the end when they come back to us feeling better and are much relieved to see us, I am sure Whiskey will know you are doing the best for her.
Take care. :bighug:

Thanks Elise. I know the vet nurse pretty well, she says she will let me know how she's doing asap when she opens up today.

Poor Whiskey. I hope she is feeling better soon.
They will give her her insulin won’t they?
I’m just concerned she didn’t get in at the AMPS and she is not eating much and has an infection. I’m concerned about ketones in the urine. Can you ask them to test for ketones please?

they were worried about giving her insulin last night because they don't have someone on prem to monitor overnight, but they will call me this morning and I will ask if I can bring her insulin and syringes if she is staying
