12/8 Tessa AMPS 186 +7 361

Just scanned her again and she's down to 167. I work from home so I'll be here all day so I could give her insulin and just keep an eye on her but I'm nervous about it.

Did you shoot? If you can monitor, you can shoot any number over 50 (on a human meter) when following TR. Shooting low is scary at first, but as you get used to shooting lower and lower preshots, you will see that Lantus gives lovely flat cycles when you shoot low.

I just came to say that I did. I was reading through all the stickies and found the info on shooting "low" numbers with TR. I wasn't seeing it on the main TR dosing info but I found it and then gave her the insulin. It was about 20 minutes late, hopefully that's OK.

Excellent! A 20-30 minute delay is fine. You can shoot at your usual time tonight.

Don't fill her up. You might need her to eat a little every hour if you get an active cycle.

Thank you! She did eat a little bit more than usual because her picky sister ate almost none of her breakfast and Tessa helped herself to it but if I know anything about Tessa, it's that she will eat any time, any where. She LOVES to eat. We used her food motivation to teach her how to sit before she gets meals. That's the only trick she's learned but I'm still proud of it haha.

It was nice while it lasted but she's shot up to the 300s again. It was the longest she had been in blue thus far though so we're making some progress. :)

Any thoughts on when we should increase to 1.75? I'm thinking maybe give her another day at 1.5 to see how things shake out.

I will take Bhooma for you
@Bandit's Mom I'm not experienced at giving dosing advice :cat:

Doses with blue nadirs are held 8-10 cycles. For lower blue nadirs, you might hold the full 10 cycles but for higher ones you can increase after 8.

She's on the high end of blue so I should be good to increase to 1.75 tomorrow then, right? TY again for all your help, I think you've commented on every one of my threads so far :)

Yes, but if she starts lower at AMPS (say below 300), you might want to hold the dose. You don't want to increase in a cycle where she is clearing a bounce - an increase could add to the downward momentum of bounce clearing.
