Yesterday

After spending all afternoon and evening on her cat tree upstairs (including tests and meals), Chewie finally came down for breakfast this morning. She ate her entire portion of food and then asked for a lift back upstairs, and went straight to her favorite hidey hole, the carrier in the bedroom closet (it has a nice thick cushion).

Hopefully she will feel better today, paws crossed.

I actually picked her up from our bed and carried her downstairs tonight for her PMPS and her dinner, and she did stay downstairs with us. She ate most of her dinner, and perked up for multiple treats of a tiny dab of butter (her absolute favorite) but she can’t seem to be able to get comfortable. Keeps shifting positions, and her breathing is loud and gurgly, and more labored than it should be at rest. She is purring and trying so hard, but I am terrified that she might actually be struggling to breathe and uncomfortable all the time. Cats are masters at hiding pain. I spent hours crying again today at the idea that she might not get better. I have an appointment at the vet for her brother Tuesday, I will call and change it to take her instead to run labs.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:Oh @Virginie you are such a good mama to Chewie. Celeste sometimes seemed like her breathing was a bit more labored - like she took deeper breaths than she needed to- and she had mild hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I know that is more common in the long-haired breeds and I know there are heart issues that also come with acro. I hope you guys get some answers that can help her feel better soon.

What a pretty girl. I think this could be heart related. I took Celeste to a cardiologist for echos every six months and she was on atenolol and clopidogrel.
