Good morning from our second green AMPS in a row
I was absolutely lulled into a false sense of safety by her +8 number of 136, didn't expect such a low AMPS!

It depends on the cat. I discovered that Neko reacted badly to wheat. A lot of the HC products have wheat or wheat gluten in them. However, there are some that are high carb from potatoes (Weruva) and she was fine with those. Adding karo or honey is always an option.
Thanks Wendy, very timely advice for today. It might be the wheat from the FF, I'll pick up some Weruva tonight. For now I think I'll stick with honey and her normal food. Poor thing doesn't need to have to runs on top of everything else (although that's what got me a +8 last night haha... the smell coming from the box in the bathroom woke me up ).

look at all that wonderful wonderful pancreas-healing green! So happy to see it. Great work Virginie, you really went all in on this deal and it shows.
Thank you so much Kyle. I'm cautiously optimistic. There were so many times when she was in the pinks and reds and I just felt like we would never reach this point... I really really hope she keeps going that way and has a chance of remission.
Never would have gotten where we are without all of you wonderful cat people :cat:

Hahaha! +3 is still 63, so I'm glad that gave that snack at +2
Gave her the same at +3: teaspoon of her LC with a good few drops of gravy from FF Gravy Lovers

@Wendy&Neko she definitely is slower at these numbers. I have to pull her out of her comfy bed, whereas at higher number she jumps up as soon as she sees the tube of churu.
Also not as interested in food. She did finish both snacks, but more slowly than she normally would.

Nice and flat at 63, woohoo! Surfing away, so great to see.

I recall when Hendrick first got into the greens I was concerned as his appetite seemed off but it was explained to me that being in those "civvie" numbers meant that his little body was able to actually make use of all the nutrients and calories in his food and so, a less ravenous kitty is expected.

+ 64 at +4! Rinse and repeat with the same snack, she wasn't super interested so I crumbled a bit of freeze-dried liver on it and that did the trick.

I try to remind myself of that, I have gotten used to her ravenous hunger, but it's not healthy, just a symptom of the disease. Just have to make sure I have enough super-enticing snacks for when she is surfing or diving!

I found that Neko didn't feel comfy the first few times she hit green. She hid under the bed. I liken high blood sugar to caffeine levels. You get used to a certain amount. You reduce the caffeine and don't feel so good. But you do get used to normal eventually.

That's a great analogy. She refused her usual food for the first time in weeks (months??) at lunch. But of course, cats being cats, she devoured a "new" food (Chicken fricasee, which was the same carb %).
About to go get a test for +7, she's getting tired of seeing me and my lancets :blackeye:
