10/19 Mar Lei Lantus AMPS 85, +1 146, +2 131, +3 158 PMPS 409

Of course. So not give him a shot yet...wait til hes over a certain number?

What number?

And then would the idea be o give him the usual dose?

With TR, you can shoot any number over 68 with a pet meter - especially if you can monitor. Give him the full dose and get a test at +1 since it is a green preshot.

Ok thanks so much.

I thought I wasn't allowed to shoot under 5 mmol...dont know where I got that from

its all gone a bit wrong as I fed him first. So he got a bit suspicious and anxious...and didnt want o come for his shot. He's gone outside now as if I force him in that state, it goes wrong all day or for the next couple of days. (He's a rescue cat with past trauma). If I leave him 10 mins outside and call him in again, he should be bright and breezy and easy to give shot to.

So that will be probably about 45 mins later than normal. So I will claw it back gently over the next few shots - maybe 15 mins earlier each shot until I get back on track?
.

That's the no-shoot number for SLGS. TR has a lower threshold.

Yes, that works :-) If he is bouncing really hard by the end of the cycle you can probably shoot at your usual time.

Please take off "Dosing advise urgently appreciated" from the thread title now that your query has been addressed. Thanks :-)

Ah right, ok thank you.

Ok perfect, I will see how it goes!!

Probably obvious question and I am pretty sure of the answer but wanted to double check - I guess my + 1 and +2 eat are from shot time 50 mins late) ?

Done!!

Thanks so much

He is so much happier and healthier again. It is so good to see him in such good spirits!

Thank you so so much for all your help

Sorry yes. I am trying to set up a new user on my computer so that when I train my niece up to be able to inject she can fill in this too. I am trying to access the spreadsheet from this new user. Just managed to sign into this page from the new user .

Can I ask....is it likely that there will come a time when I can shoot and go? Is it just like this for a while?

I don't really have a functional life yet, I haven't sorted it since I have to give my career up. I am hoping to get a proper job soon but that will require me doing longer hours and being out of the house more and arriving on time, early. I am trying to keep this going until he is better regulated ........but I won't be able to carry on like this indefinitely .....

Isn't he heading down?

I am ok for a bit. I am doing some things from home.
He is still higher than he was at AMPS. He is bouncing but the insulin is tempering the bounce.

I know how you feel. Some cats get regulated sooner and others take longer. Fingers crossed that the TR protocol works for him and he becomes more predictable and regulated. You can work this around your job, so don't let this keep you from pursuing better career opportunities.

I just feel he has a better chance if I can be more available to him at the beginning. - To keep giving bits of food to get his body used to being low without going so low he bounces madly - get him out of this massive swing in lows and highs etc so I will stall it as long as I can........thank you

Does this mean he will def bounce? Or it is still hanging inthe balance?
yes, he is bouncing. When his body starts getting used to lower numbers and he is at a good dose, the bounces will be slower (he won't zoom up as fast), will be shallower (he won't go as high) and he will clear bounces faster.

take a break till PMPS. you can test at his usual shot time and if he is really high you could shoot then.

So its +11.hours and 15 mins

Its the normal actual time I would normally inject - its just with his low bg this morning I was a bit unsure and a bit late giving insulin

BG is now 22.7

Do you think I should call that BG his PMOS and give the shot now?

Also think you might be able to call it a night after +2. Set the feeder for a meal for +4.
Curious to see if he will be lower in the morning or bounce a little longer from the green.
