Bhooma, I am curious if the Levemir smells like gasoline to you? That would be a big plus if it doesn’t. Lantus is nauseating to me as I am very sensitive to odors. I’m considering getting some good masks if needed.

Oh! I can't tell if Levemir smells any different from Lantus. It smells like insulin. Sorry I can't help.

Hi Jackie,
One of my cats, Blue, still gets Lantus and Eddie get Levemir (more recent change from Lantus). I find Lantus has the. sharper smell but both are similar and, yes, I agree, something akin to gasoline!

Thanks, good to know! I guess in a way it’s good it smells so you can tell if you gave a fur shot on smaller doses…boy is it pungent to me, though.
