10/9 Herman amps 77 +1 85 +3 81 +5 63 +8 65 +11 99 pmps 137 +1 110

Looks like he’s planning a green day…I had plans for a few hours this afternoon….hmmmmm I guess I should reconsider. On his previous dose he took frequent gravy all day to keep him up. Not sure how he’s going to be on this new dose. So far he’s been getting 6% all morning (vs0-3% when not in green) plus a tiny pinch of gravy on each meal. What to do…..:nailbiting:

+5 63 with frequent small meals with higher than usual carbs. Just gave an extra 2 tsp of 12% gravy. Again, I walk this line of trying to prevent a number in the limes but to counteract that he is eating a fair bit of carb for extended periods of time so I have mixed feelings.
I am thrilled for the greens but, If I’m constantly carbing him up, do I have enough room to bump him up further if he still drops while on these medium carbs to start with? I do have 27% and karo. I find this part quite nerve wracking. Another day of cancelled plans ( I don’t mind, I’ll do anything for Herman, but boy are people starting to judge me!:( )

Hi Amy, great job caring for Herman :bighug:.

Maybe put a question mark in your thread for experienced members to see and hopefully answer your question.

Well I'm judging you too, and in my eyes you are a hero. So there. TAKE THAT, CRITICS. :p

p.s. Herman just texted me. He wrote, "+1."

Jeeez….can you imagine if pets could text?!:woot: …..but why did he text me +1? Lol…in reference to his number at +1? Clearly I need more :coffee:

“+1” means “me too” … admittedly confusing in FD context!

It’s a nice flat Lantus cycle. You can always add a drop or two of honey to his mc instead of the 27%. I’d save the hc for when he drops under 50 or if you need to leave him. If that’s the case you heed 2 hours staying up before you stop testing.

Ok thanks, Is the thought of using honey or karo instead of hc because it would be less likely to upset his stomach? Or because it would leave his system quicker?

Yes, agreed, a lovely cycle if I hadn’t had plans and were more confident he wouldnt dive to lime as he likes to do.
At +8 65 I just fed 12% gravy with his 6%pate. My sister has offered to give him an hourly snack over next couple hours so I can go watch 1 hour of a horse show. I’m still on the fence about going.

:D:D Way to go, Herman.

Just curious, but did you shoot an hour early this morning? I saw you shot at 5 am yesterday and 4 am today. I didn't look at what time you shot for PMPS yesterday.

Hi, yes I did 430 yesterday pm to get back to 4. 5am the day prior was after an hour wait from him not eating, that pm I moved it 30min then another 30min in am And I’ll shoot 4pm this aft (I hope!) Sometimes my times move a bit more than ideal because he can be a real challenge to catch for a needle, sometimes I’ll shoot early if he’s at the shooting table within half hour to shot then I bump it back a bit next shot. The move you reference was to get back to 4.
