Quick question about figuring out carb percentages, looking at the Weruva website they list metabolized energy, as fed and dry matter carbohydrates which one is the one I should be looking at for accurate percentages? I have a feeling I’m doing it wrong, I’ve been going by as fed

As fed includes moisture. Weruva is giving the % calories from carbohydrates (Calories and Metabolizable Energy) which is the first table. And that is minus moisture. So calories from protein + carbs + fat = 100%

Hi Carole - welcome to the rabbit hole of feline nutrition :p.
The answer depends on if you're doing any comparison. Most brands do NOT include the Metabolized Energy (ME) in the analysis. Weruva however does. So the carb % in the ME chart is what you're looking for. HOWEVER, if you're comparing this with another brand which does not give you ME information, then I will typically compare the dry matter basis (DMB) for each. Hope this helps and didn't confuse you any more:bighug:

I just went to check the Weruva website to make sure I have the numbers right and it turns out I have been using the ME values all along lol, I’m surprised at just how big a difference it makes!

Weruva Date Night
ME 7.60%
As Fed 1.46%
DM 9.00 %
