Actually it's been taking it's toll! Time choice was partly due to the fact that he has had his main dinner around 4:15pm for the past 10 years (and he KNOWS It and he MUST MUST MUST be fed at that time or ELSE) and that is partly since I am *always* here at around that time because I have horses and they need a very consistent feed and bring in schedule so I figure I should lump my "must be here at the farm tasks" together to impart flexibility to the rest of my day. Nice in theory. But I am learning that trying to regulate a bouncy diabetic cat means your schedule is completely dependent on his numbers any particular day so I guess I could move my times to 630 for the winter - I need to be around anyway type thing. That way he can eat at 415pm per habit and be ok to test/shoot at 630pm and 630am for winter is ok as I don't head to barn earlier than that once the cold weather hits. I love Herman and will do anything for him but boy sometimes when you really think about the change in lifestyle it means, it gets depressing. At least for me I have a dog, horses, cat etc so I never really had that much "freedom" anyway - plus I work from home (horses are just a hobby) so I am lucky - I can't imagine the stress and change to lifestyle to people who had complete freedom prior to a feline diabetes diagnosis!I don’t know how you do a 4:15 a.m. shot although I was often up until 2 a.m. and had to shoot at 6. I’ve never recovered to be able to sleep well.![]()
