? 8/30 Pickles pmps 104, +2 51, +3 41, +3.5 57, +4 50

I'd stick with 1.25 units, especially since you only needed MC to bring him up. That plus he's a long term diabetic so just one under 50 doesn't earn a reduction if following TR.

Ok thanks. I’ll plan to do 1.25 again tonight. I’ll more than likely leave some MC in his 1am dish just in case.

PM update: the 51 was at 10:15pm. I have more LC and plan to test again at 11:15pm ET. I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I guess for a bit of a rise? Either way I’ll put some MC in his auto feeder for later in the night

Based on tonight I’m thinking I need to reduce tomorrow am. I’m thinking a “fat” 1u. Thoughts?

He seems to always have a fast onset. Just tested at +3 and was 41. Gave a tablespoon of HC and will test in 30.
Did he drop to 41 after HC at +2?

He hasn't earned a reduction. For long term diabetics, the rule is a drop below 40 (rather than 50, on a human meter) or 3 drops between 40 and 50 on 3 separate day for cats who don't hold reductions. If you can monitor him tomorrow morning, I would suggest staying with 1.25U. That would be 4 cycles on 1.25U and we can assume that any previous depot is out of the picture. It does look like he may be done with this dose soon.

No I gave LC when I saw the 51 to see what would happen. My hesitation is he doesn’t feel like a “long term” diabetic since he was only diabetic for a month and a half before reaching remission in 2020. I also I was reading somewhere in the sticky’s that if they keep going low they could get used to it to the point that they don’t seek out food which worries me. He was just Chillen acting fine at 41, while yesterday when he was low he was all over me meowing. I might be overthinking it. But I am able to monitor him tomorrow so I could still give the 1.25.

I'm fairly familiar with the Sticky Notes. ;) Pretty sure they don't say that.

Glad to see he's coming up.

That is an Info Note, not a Sticky Note. Bottom line from the Info Note, know thy cat, test and feed to keep him out of low numbers. Don't count on the cat to come looking for food when low, though some do. TR does come with risks, which are mitigated by testing and food.
