I’ve heard the Relion Classic Prime meter has high numbers.

Can anyone comment on just how high these numbers can be off?
10 points? More?

I thought that meter was discontinued.
The Prime meters have been discontinued but Walmart is still selling strips for the Prime. I bought some a few weeks ago.

All muman meters tend to read higher than pet meters because the glucose distribution in feline blood is diffferent than human blood. There is not set difference between pet and human meters but it s a % difference in the BG reading, That is at higher BGs the difference will be greater.
The rule is use one meter only except in emergencies when yo have to use another meter.

Crap, where can I buy one?
Or should I if they were discontinued for a reason?

*** update I actaually meant the classic Premier meter and not the Prime. Updated title

Also I know the diff between human and pet meters. My question is how much higher is the Premier in relation to say actual bg values—not pet meters— like from a control solution for instance. Should have been more specific.

The actual BG would be that from a pet meter of bet lab machine. There is no formula to convert a human meter BG value to a pet/vet lab machine value.

I recently had a thread where I was questioning the readings on the Premier Classic against a OneTouch meter. Turns out the OneTouch had gone sideways and the Premier Classic was right. I even took both to the vet, had them use both meters from their blood sample, and the Premier Classic was within a few points of the in office lab test reading.

Hope that helps for accuracy concerns.
